Any DUer's going to the inauguration?

We had a small meet up last time. Would love to meet some of you in DC.

It'd be awesome! But I'll be watching from the comfort of my couch.

7. Froze my ass off last time.

It is a great thing to do once. I had special tickets that got me close than most, but I still had to look at the Jumbotron to see what was going on. Waited for hours in the cold.

You can see much better at home in the comfort of a warm room and a nice tv.

10. Agreed, but there's something special about sharing the event with others...

Last time I went to Times Square to watch on the Video screens with hundreds of others.

11. I went last time

It was freezing, had standing tickets so had to watch from the jumbotrons. It was so much fun, such positive energy from the crowd. I am looking forward to the 2013 event, it will be a little different, predicted much smaller crowds. Who knows about the weather, could be anything. I am waiting until the day before departure to pack.

Maybe a local could suggest a suitable watering hole. I arrive Friday, have Stephanie Miller tickets for Saturday night.

12. Tickets not required

The standing tickets are more of a souvenir than a necessity. We had tickets, still had to watch from the jumbotron. There is open viewing from behind the area where tickets are required. All has jumbotrons.

What you will need is a place to stay. Hotels tend to fill although I have heard that rooms are still available.
