Suppose on Jan. 3 the House Repubs pass a bill returning ALL tax rates to the old levels,

And then the House sends it to the Senate. When the Senate fails to pass the bill, the House will blame the Senate.

Is the general public informed enough to not blame both sides equally?

1. There was a 'fair' bipartisan bill passed in the Senate. nt

3. it's especially fair to folks earning up to $33K per month....

I'm not such a fan of bipartisanship when the other party is composed of vipers.

5. Including the working poor.

I doubt that they agree with you that it's better to take money out of their pockets than compromise and become less pure.

7. I doubt they agree either...

...which is why we need to reduce taxes on working class Americans only-- NOT folks making $450,000 a year. AND we need the sequester to begin putting a dent in runaway military spending. There will be a new Congress soon. Dems should hang tough now-- the "deal" will only provide cover for republicans who want to unravel the return to sound revenue policy. If the goal is to provide relief for working poor families, why tie that issue to making tax breaks for the wealthy permanent?

10. Because We don't have the votes to pass that agenda in the House.

Not now. Not in the next Congress.

Deal isn't perfect, but that's life in divided government.

4. So that might be what the "crazies" in the House are counting on.

Ignorance.

9. I think that's exactly what they're counting on...

NBC's top story was how 'Congress' can't come to a deal.

No, it's REPUBLICANS who can't. NOT Congress.

8. Finance bills have to originate in the House, which the Rethugs control.

So my question stands. How does the public react when the Rethugs in the House immediately vote to return ALL tax rates to previous levels? Are you so sure they'll blame the Rethugs for not putting forth a bill that could pass the Senate, too?

11. The president goes to the podium and blames them right back

Here he has tried to work a deal but instead the R's are spending Chinese loan money to give a tax break to the wealthy. Their bill doesn't pay for itself, puts another trillion to the national debt and deficit and again shows the Republican Party can't govern. Please call your congressman and tell them to grow the fuck up.

Thank you and god bless America.
