7. Perhaps an online DU petition would help this choice?

10. I heard Vicki Kennedy was a shoo-in as caretaker Senator until the replacement election next summer.

11. Barney's great, but I hope you're wrong.

Patrick should appoint the Democratic candidate in the special election, so that his appointee can build up statewide name recognition. Scott Brown already has that from two statewide campaigns and more than a year's service in the Senate.

If it seems clear that Markey will be the nominee, he should be appointed. If there's likely to be a seriously contested primary, of course, then Patrick's task is more difficult.

12. That would be a whole lot of wonderful

but I don't know if Barney would do it. He seems to be looking forward to his retirement from public life and I can't say as I blame him.

15. Barney Frank said he is out of Gov, free to do more in the general public

We have a Kennedy who I would love to see in the position. She would have plenty of support and help. Would give valuable political experience to another awesome, upward bound Democrat.

16. Frank has said that he does not want the job.

I think he is tired of the recent congressional BS.
