If John Kerry is confirmed to SOS,
Barney Frank is in the running to be named interim Senator to take his place! Wouldn't that just fry the Repugs Butts!!! I've decided that the End Of The World Mayan calendar thing is actually just the end of the reign of the haters and the liars. It's a new dawn for progressives!

1. Having him as interim is all well and good
|
but we need a top notch candidate for the permanent position.

3. Hopefully the Democratic Party learned their lesson and will work hard to come up
|
with a top notch progressive candidate. Maybe they should just let moveon, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, or PDA come up with a candidate.

2. Did Barney Frank enter his own name or is that a suggestion because of his popularity there?
|
I thought he said he was done and doesn't want anything more to do in congress.

6. Frank would be a good interim Senator
|
Assuming he hasn't already made his vacation plans (after so many years in the House who would blame him if he had).
It would also give whomever is running for the special election time to focus on the campaign. Hopefully that person runs a competent campaign this time around. |

7. Barney Frank would be great, but I thought he was quitting politics.
|
I would like to see a Senator Barney Frank.
Here is a link to his Wikipedia page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barney_Frank If he could be tempted to run, I would be happy. |

9. I agree -- don't miss the chance to boost the candidate's name recognition.
|
Leading contenders, like Congressmembers Capuano and Markey, have lower name recognition than Scott Brown, because they've been representing only one district. Let one of them serve a few months as Senator, until the special election, to strengthen him against Brown.
This is nothing against Barney Frank, whom I've admired since he was in the Massachusetts legislature. |

10. If. Which republican(s) will block him from confirmation? Obama could nominate Jesus and
|
they would stop it.
