During Bill O’Reilly’s Talking Points segment this evening, the Fox News host took aim at the entertainment industry, claiming that it is putting pressure on individual entertainers to not appear at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

After noting that the short list of acts performing so far, O’Reilly then brought up how previous inaugurations, noting that the contentious election of George W. Bush didn’t stop major musical artists from showing up.

He then went on to compare the industry to Joseph McCarthy.

“The harsh truth is that there is reverse McCarthyism going on in the entertainment industry,” O’Reilly stated.

Following this segment, O’Reilly got into a bit of a contentious debate with colleague Charles Krauthammer over the whole issue.

The least one could do is not be a link-only DU idiot. Thankfully my download limit reset a couple of days ago so I was able to bail you out.

The next time you post an OP, please include some content, or at least some context. Otherwise those of us with severe download limits will just ignore your OP. Justifiably so.

I am really sorry about your download limits...the republicans are trying to give more power to those that want to limit the internet so hang in there while we figure this one out.

6. What is the purpose of posting a DU OP?

If one only includes a link, do you really expect folks to click through?

I rarely do because there are too many DU OPs which are rubbish, revisiting the primary election. In other words, worthless.

However, I can read posts and respond to posts here with minimal impact on my download limits, thanks to the very efficient DU infrastructure which allows people like me to participate.

What folks who have unlimited download do not understand is that not everybody is so blessed. So you mindlessly post contentless OPs with the expectation that everybody here can see what you see.

Well, from the midst of the Manistee National Forest in rural western Michigan, I can unequivocally state that you are wrong. Download limits are a fact here. Thankfully DU respects that, if only DUers would do the same.

Your OP is worthless.

Sorry about my surly post, but I tend to get that way with empty DU OPs which invite one in, yet provide nothing.

Thank you for understanding about some folks' internet challenges.

My best to you.

4. You're Not Summoned to Perform For the King- Krauthammer Battles OReilly on Inauguration Performers

Video at the link above

After a holiday break, Bill O’Reilly returned tonight to the airwaves and jumped right into the fray, battling his old foe Charles Krauthammer over the lack of big-name entertainers agreeing to perform at the Donald Trump’s inauguration. After devoting his Talking Points segment to his belief that we are witnessing “reverse McCarthyism” in the entertainment industry over Trump, O’Reilly then turned to Krauthammer to discuss the topic. And Krauthammer did not see eye-to-eye with the Fox News host.

Right away, Krauthammer took umbrage with O’Reilly’s theory that entertainers are frightened to perform for Trump because their careers might be harmed, telling the Bill that he “presented no evidence to that effect.” O’Reilly was apoplectic over the thought of Krauthammer not believing there’s pressure being put on specific entertainers. Krauthammer noted that there is a reason why conservatives set up their own think tanks in Washington as liberals controlled the cultural institutions and more liberals are involved in entertainment.

When O’Reilly hit back and said Krauthammer was saying it was OK to deny someone a job for showing up to the Trump inauguration, he was given the following response: They don’t want to play for Donald Trump. This is a republic. You are not summoned to perform for the king or for the dictator. In some places, if if they call you to sing, you better show up.

O’Reilly went on to say Krauthammer knew nothing about Hollywood and they battled a little longer. This was just another in the line of classic O’Reilly/Krauthammer confrontations.

5. I blame O'Reilly's unhappiness on his knowledge that he is a loser.
