Did Obama win the election because he was a better liar?

Was Obama simply a better liar than Romney?

Obama promised to be the protector of the senior/middle/lower class "entitlements" (versus the entitlements for corporations like Exxon). He would protect us from Romney and the Republicans who would increase the rates on seniors and destroy the social safety net.

Romney and Ryan, conversely, said (one of many things they said), that they were the protectors of Social Security.

http://blog.heritage.org/2012/09/24/romneys-60-minutes-fix-for-social-security-and-medicare/ (Romney's Promise)

Here we are, shortly after the election, and even before his inauguration, and he gives the republican's social security.

We need to hold Obama to his promise. Call/write the White House and your Senators.

I am not the cut and runner. I worked the phone banks, I went door to door. I fought for him. I stood by him. I believed him.

I am a betrayed, disillusioned voter who trusted him when he said he would NOT put SS on the table.

He mentioned that the evidence was all on paper in the news but people chose to ignore it.
So this isnt a surprise. The democratic party is continuing to shift to the right.

9. I agree there is a shift to the right.

When we make "concessions" to the radical tea party in an effort to "compromise" we must move to the right.

I hate it when the politicians say "people want compromise." No, we do not want compromise for the sake of compromise. We want fairness.

I am surprised that Obama gave so much on SS--for the sake of compromise. SS has nothing to do with the financial crisis. The betrayal for the sake of compromise is a shitload to swallow.

14. You must think he is a dictator. Voting for repubs in 2014 will get you what you want, right?

Better time would be spent getting 100% amnesty, 100% citizenship and 100% guns off the street

but you are entitled to your wedge issues.

like a President is ever going to get 100%. Even LBJ did not get everything he wanted

Maybe if the senior Democrats in the Senate weren't so busy angling for a new job and did some strongarming like was done in LBJ's day. But they are too busy wanting to be SOS and other positions to bother anyhow.

16. I have plenty to disagree with Obama about (chiefly foreign and defense policies), but I

really must draw the line at calling him a 'liar.' Obama made an offer he knew that Rape-publi-scum would have to refuse (b/c it took the debt ceiling off the table). That's not a lie, that's poker-playing bluffing at its finest. Rs, like the putzes and chumps they are, didn't call his bluff and instead folded their hand and left the table. Translation; Obama and we get to collect the pot and Rs get nothing.

43. At the moment, I don't really mind much

I look at the Romney agenda, and take a look at it again...
Then think, ok, it's not that bad yet.

Oh, and we have the possibility of getting better Supreme Court Judges...
So, anything left of what Romney planned, I am ok with for now.

Yes, I know it can be considered lowered expectations, but at the moment, I'm just tired.
I know Obama is to the right of me, but I am still quite happy that we are not facing the abyss called Romney, so...

There you go.

Any how, I'll take you on your word that you wish to call/write the White House and your representatives. I mean, that is only the civic thing to do.

However, in regards to calling Obama a liar... well, being a politician tends to be synonymous with such a thing... Still, perhaps that word is too harsh for now, since it isn't even the beginning of his 2nd term as of yet.

The idea for the moment is that both sides want to show that they are working towards a solution. I prefer he FDR it up, but, this is Obama, the fact that it isn't Romney is enough for me for now. Still, good luck on that fight.

I still prefer him to just let the tax cut expires, not cut a deal, and postpone implementation of sequestration.

Whether you want to call him a liar is on your own conscience.

That being said we don't yet know what really will happen.

I have stood behind Obama since April of 2007 when I first gave to him campaign. Five and a half years out I'm not going to start screaming that he's selling us out when we don't know what's really on the table.

If you are wrong, then maybe you should think about supporting someone else.

If you subtract the effects of Republican voter fraud and their huge money advantage, he won in a landslide.

This is not Obama's first rodeo, so to speak. He has been here before. He was a pretty good student in college. He does learn stuff as he goes along, and he knows who elected him and why.
