Obama's strategy is perfect...

- he offered Social Security cuts... Boner walked away
- he offered Chained CPI.. Boner walked away
- he offered other major cuts.. Boner walked away

Now, after Jan 1. Boner is screwed, the GOP is screwed, they are all screwed

THEY WALKED AWAY. Their infighting has condemned them to losing their ass on this.

And the Big O will be calling the terms.

Oh ye of Little Faith.

If you remember that, then hair pulling and igniting those frocks is cut down to zero.

5. Chained CPI is not popular with the VFW and American Legion crowd.

Both Veterans groups are strongly opposed to the idea of chained CPI. These are not groups that went for Obama. Obama will "reluctantly take Chained CPI off the table" due to the strong opposition to it by those groups. This will put the Republicans into a bit of a sticky wicket, VFW and American Legion members tend to vote republican. But they realize that Chained-CPI will they will get poorer as they age and many of them are just scrapping by now. The nasty little secret is that Obama's Chained CPI proposal in last week's offer included both Social Security and VA beneficiaries. You do not want to piss off these people, they vote. This may well take the idea of Chained CPI out of play for quite a while.

9. BULLSHIT.

One of the most destructive aspects of this whole debt debacle, ever since it started, has been the unconscionable decision by our Democratic President and corporate Democrats in Congress to validate the right-wing narrative and framing of what is wrong with our economy and what needs to happen to fix it.

Our Democrats had from Day One of this Presidency to correct the lies about austerity and change the narrative about our national values. They chose instead to play along, and we have since been subjected to the disgusting, unconscionable spectacle of our seniors and poor being used BY THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY as bargaining chips.

What used to be understood as REPUBLICAN lies and talking points about the economy and the deficit were transformed into a devastating NATIONAL, BIPARTISAN narrative about the need for austerity that we now have to fight against every single day.

Every single time Democrats reinforce this narrative, it is damaging to the country.

Signing on to austerity packages is not a victory. Going over the cliff is the best we can hope for now, but it is still a decided loss. Even if we go over the cliff, we are stuck with painful, certainly regressive, triggered budget slashing that Obama is fully responsible for, because he chose to validate the Shock Doctrine scam debt ceiling "crisis" last year. We should not be imposing austerity at all during this economy.

If the Democratic Party wants to claim a victory, it will not happen until after this debacle...and only IF the party makes a decision to go back to what truly defines a victory: passionate advocacy for and action toward legislation that actually HELPS people and holds bankers accountable.

Obama has his entire second term to start giving us some real wins, but this isn't one of them. They need to give us something that really helps, not expect praise for subjecting us to one of the less painful of the various austerity options they have helped the Republicans put into place. We need to remind them, and apparently some of ourselves, what a win truly means, and what we should be demanding from our party.

11. THANK YOU!!

All this talk of the 3D chess game is really getting on my nerves. So sick of the Dems and they're lack of game! It's time they go back to the core values of the party instead of allowing the Republicon party to pull them to the right. It's time for this country to move in a true progressive direction. Enough of the coddling all you 3D chess believing enablers! It's time to wake up and smell reality. Pushing austerity measures IS NOT a winning strategy.

15. ROFL!!!

You are SUCH the constant joker!!!

I gotta admit your writing talent and obvious gift for the talking points is a cut above..And this tome is your best yet!!!

The fucking fact is, that in spite of your bloviating, and the masturbation by the MSM, NO ONE HAS REALLY GIVEN A FUCKING THING AWAY

The "offers" were political theater, and nothing more.

And anyone here not smart enough to see that should maybe get off the cable news and stop rephrasing Chuckie Todd's and Andrea Mitchell's talking points.

It's disgusting.

10. The dems will now have to own the label of offering up SS. That doesn't feel like a winner.

That feels like a loose thread for the GOP to tug on.
