Were not coming after your testicles, just some of your toys.

Might cut down some of our horrendous gun murder numbers.

1. No proposed law will take any of my guns as far as I can see.

Even Senator Feinstein said that the new AWB she will introduce will not be retroactive.

22. Are they factoring in the importance of avoiding confrontational situations as "gun safety"?

Cause, really, it's not too hard seeing how a round up of all the assault guns out there could lead to more senseless killing.

"43 times more likely"

Which included suicides.

I ask again...

will you guarantee my wife's safety?

12. Will you guarantee her (and your) stability?

I mean no snark or offense. Not you personally; people in general. I just mean, people go off. People go through unexpected trauma and crisis. You all are fine now, thankfully, but what's to keep you, or every individual who enters your home, from reaching the point where they do the unthinkable? My old landlord was a homicide cop and he told me most murderers are not violent criminals and killers. They are regular people who snapped. It happens all the time.

I mean no snark or offense.

None taken.

Not you personally; people in general. I just mean, people go off.

People go off for reasons. If they do, I never trust them again, without wads of proof in re successful therapy.

People go through unexpected trauma and crisis. You all are fine now, thankfully, but what's to keep you, or every individual who enters your home, from reaching the point where they do the unthinkable?

1.) I'm picky about who enters my home. My wife is pickier.
2.) We engage in coping skills and de-stress sessions
3.) If someone does enter my home w/o my permission, that's what the 5 amp stun stick is for...
4.) NONE of my friends has a mental illness. Also, we're a close-knit group that checks in often. At a sign of stress, we all get together.

My old landlord was a homicide cop and he told me most murderers are not violent criminals and killers. They are regular people who snapped. It happens all the time.

The "snapping" situation goes through stages. Each stage can be verified.

33. You can't guarantee your wife's safety either.

If guns guarantee safety, cops wouldn't die in the line of duty. A gun gives a feeling of security, but it doesn't guarantee it by any means.

If they want to be truly, truly safe. If the wife is in such grave danger, that might give them peace of mind. I think that must be why people move off to the boonies where there are no other people. Ruby Ridge.

31. My guns are tools

I have never owned an assault rifle and never will. I live in a rural forest area. I may protect my garden from woodchucks or my chickens from the coyotes but I have never felt it necessary to have a gun at Wal-Mart. I fear some fool with a gun under their coat just itching to use it more then any critter in the forest.

32. Well, you won't have to pry them from my cold, dead, hands; but you will need ...

to figure out how to get them out of my gun safe. And if you want to use them, you'll need to find a way to disable the trigger locks. Then, of course, you'll need to figure out how to get into the OTHER safe where I keep the ammunition. If you can manage all of that, I'll GIVE you the fucking guns, (except for my Dad's WWII .45 caliber Colt, which he kept in the cockpit as he flew into aerial combat in the South Pacific, and later over Korea. That one's an heirloom.)
