1. I gave a list on another thread

I would love it if she was appointed. It didn't cross my mind. Do you think her affiliation with Rice would hurt her? Or Clinton (Hillary) would frown upon it? Remember - Hillary basically got her canned from the 08 Campaign for her statements calling out Hillary on Rwanda.

Could she (Clinton) block Power?

Power understands so much of the world. The ugliest parts of humanity - what drives darkness. For that alone - I find her appealing.

2. I thought Samantha got canned because

she was careless (got caught or perhaps bragged to the wrong people) that she advised Canadian officials that Obama was "just kidding" when he talked about revising NAFTA and they did not need to worry.

4. Here it is

The comments made about Rwanda are in her book America In The Age of Genocide.

5. She called Hillary "a monster", remember?

Obama pulled her back from a public role in his camaign because she understandably became a not helpful distraction over that. Hillary did not try to block her appointment at the State Department - she went along with it and they seem to have done fine working on the same team.

For the record, I am a big fan of Samantha.

3. Right person, wrong job

I assume you mean your choice for SecState. Power is an academic who's never actually managed anything; you do not want to put her in charge of the entire State Department bureaucracy.

But she'd be an awesome choice for UN Ambassador.
