Did Mitt Romney's use of the 47% statement make Romney's campaign succumb to the 99% meme of Occupy?

It showed Romney trying to divide Americas, in a way Americans no longer felt divided.

1. the 2012 election had nothing to do with ows. It had 100% to do with Barack Obama.

2. You don't think the 99% was in the hearts of the majority of Americans

after Occupy fall? Really? That inequality didn't play a role in the 2012 election?

3. I don't think 99% of America ever heard of them. NYC yes, not the rest of America

Did you ever wonder why the major core voters of Barack Obama don't whine and waited 10 hours to vote or more?

Because they know how great it is that Obama is president at this time.

and it has nothing to do with anything but.
It was predestined that it was a landslide victory. That the repubs didn't believe it was their problem

the revolution was won peacefully in Nov. 2008. Ratified and affirmed Nov. 2012

now the continuation begins.

5. I think OWS stumbled upon a great meme

And it wouldn't have been as strong a message had Romney not been the candidate. When his 47% comments surfaced, the media naturally contrasted them with the 99% message and I think a lot of people who didn't necessarily identify with OWS message found they could.

4. Yeah because

just using the __% meme reminded people of the 99% slogan and issues.

Also the comment exposed Romney's disgusting class prejudice. That he was making the comment in "secret" to a room full of millionaires made it even more obvious that there is a class war of sorts going on in America. He was bluntly trying to rally rich people for a class-based money grab, and there was no denying it.

7. I agree. It supported Buffet's contention that there was a class war that his class had been winning

It turned out that Mr. Buffett, with immense income from dividends and capital gains, paid far, far less as a fraction of his income than the secretaries or the clerks or anyone else in his office. Further, in conversation it came up that Mr. Buffett doesn’t use any tax planning at all. He just pays as the Internal Revenue Code requires. “How can this be fair?” he asked of how little he pays relative to his employees. “How can this be right?”

Even though I agreed with him, I warned that whenever someone tried to raise the issue, he or she was accused of fomenting class warfare.

“There’s class warfare, all right,” Mr. Buffett said, “but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”

6. I think OWS played a great role in waking people up to how much we 99% have in common.

That we are closer to Romney's maligned 47% than we are to his Top One Percent funders.
