GOP & Sen. Graham Push for Medicare cuts (and Social Security cuts)

Sen. Graham: Obama is a ‘small ball guy’ who needs to ‘man up’ on Medicare cuts

Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham says President Barack Obama is a “small ball guy” but it’s time for him to start “manning up” on cuts to earned benefits like Medicare and Social Security.

Speaking to Fox News host Martha MacCallum on Monday, Graham suggested that Republicans should not agree to tax rate hikes on the rich and should hold a debt ceiling increase hostage until Democrats agreed to “entitlement reform.”

1. It still

blows my mind that the people that mainly need these programs voted for people like Graham. They must be dumb as rocks. Graham still has outline getting rid of corporate welfare or any cuts to the military and he will not.

2. Are electronic voting machines used in South Carolina?

"Third is the well-documented unreliability and unverifiability of the voting machines used in South Carolina. It is worth noting that these machines were purchased surplus from Louisiana after that state outlawed them.

"In response, the state is insisting there is no truth to this claim at all:
...
"Of course, South Carolina's election commission has its own credibility problems. Apparently, its been telling local news media that the iVotronic systems do have an auditable paper trail. They don't. They have a paper tally, but that's not the same thing.

6. How do you think they managed for Mr. Green

to win the Dem Senate primary to run against DeMented in 2008?

That was clearly an excerise to prove to someone - maybe Rove? that it could be done. That an absolute nobody who noone had ever heard of before, and who had a criminal record, could beat out the whole pack of Dem Senate Wannabes that year. .

3. "Okay, Lindsey. I give up ..."

Graham suggested that Republicans should not agree to tax rate hikes on the rich and should hold a debt ceiling increase hostage until Democrats agreed to “entitlement reform.”

Here is a list of my "entitlement reforms" ...

1. We're gonna allow medicare and medicaid to negotiate drug pricing with pharma;
2. We're gonna remove the cap of payroll taxes ... No, we're gonna apply the tax to ALL income, while exempting the 1st $45,000 (and peg the exemption to the national median income);
3. we're gonna allow anyone to purchase into medicare at any age;
4. we're gonna lower the eligibilty age for full SS and Medicare benefits to 55 years of age ...

How get to agreeing on tax hikes for the wealthy ... Is that "big ball" enough?

4. And failing to do so, in essence, wasting money.

And the GOP assholes should have their salaries cut down to minimum wages and no benefits to show *them* as an example.

Any funds outside of their Congressional salary would be seized and donated to the poor.

5. *ugh*

Just when you thought that he couldn't get any worse. If that's how he and Corker want to play it, let's just go over that damned cliff. I'm not paying into Medicare/Social Security just to see them cut when I get to the end of my lifespan so that the GOP can get some perverse thrill out of cutting the social safety net and giving the rich tax cuts.
