1. Hope you're right

It seems to me that the rich can afford to shut everything down for a little while, in order to keep their tax breaks. Sure, they'd love to continue to make money off of even a lackluster economy, but they (and their Repuke allies) have the staying power to get through a few months of a full governmental shutdown caused by refusing to extend the debt ceiling.

That's the uber-joker that the President isn't holding in your graphic.

2. I suspect they are preparing to go John Galt on us

The moment of their Ayn Randian wet dream is approaching. The wealthy think we need them more than they need us. We're currently seeing it play out on a small scale - Hostess Bakery and the NHL. If the spoiled, greedy folks in charge don't get what they want, some of them fully intend to hurt the rest of us.

3. Selfish babies. They have had it good for so long ... the tax rate should

be 15% max on WAGES and regular rates on CG and Dividends. Think we would
get to keep those rates for 10 Years??? Only fair.

4. Let the majority leaders get sued for malfeasance, dereliction of duty and freeze all their pay and

benefits. The country has been in an uninterrupted state of emergency since 9/ll, anyway. Let Obama proclaim that Congress' gridlock is a national security threat, and see what happens.
