Introducing Discussionist: A new forum by the creators of DU

What BS. McCain, Graham and Ayotte all choked up with stunned concern.

"I'm even more concerned now than I was before." All three took basically the same PR tack.

Of course none provided any, you know, information about the one hour meeting with Amb. Rice. It was all about the choking concern.

And the quick exit...

1. I am Furious!

All three of them are so full of SH$%!!!

They FORGOT to point out she would have been violating her security clearance to say anything she wasn't authorized to say, and she would have been eaten alive if she didn't answer the questions she was asked.

4. And the Oscar goes to......!!!!!!

What a load of manufactured horseshit.

Faux drama. Poutrage.

And some very, VERY bad acting.

Ayotte appeared uncomfortable with her lines. Even McCain and Graham Cracker seemed to have trouble bullshitting with their usual verve.

It was a real "At long last, have you no shame?" moment for the two senior senators, certainly.

I think the DNC needs to devote money, boots on the ground, and a major crowbar towards getting those jerks OUT of their seats. They need to start NOW.

There should be a bit of hell to pay for politicizing that matter.

Why isn't he going after Patreaus???

This guy should be held responsible as this was a CIA operation.

But, McCain is in love with the General and he is a Republican.

9. I'm asking the same question. Why Rice and not Petraeus?

HE signed off on the talking points. Shouldn't HE be the one these overpaid hacks should be after?

Are they this desperate to find anything to launch impeachment proceedings on another Democratic president that they'll cling to this non-issue while trying to destroy Susan Rice's exemplary service?

Methinks McInsane is still pissed off about what she said about him back in 2008:

Rice went on leave from the Brookings Institution to serve as a senior foreign policy advisor to Senator Barack Obama in his 2008 presidential campaign. Rice took a disparaging view of Obama's Republican opponent in the campaign, John McCain, calling his policies "reckless" and dismissing the Arizona Senator's trip to Iraq as "strolling around the market in a flak jacket."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Rice

I believe he's still a bit upset about that and that is the reason why he's going after her, specifically, with spin, taking no questions, but happily taking her words out of context. What a pathetic piece of sh*t.

10. Sure seems personal to an extent for both McCain and Graham.

And what few mention - Rice requested the interview with the 3 senators. None of them had the simple class to recognize her initiative to address their "concerns" and offer clarification in person. Yet they didn't miss a beat in getting before the cameras to bash her.

There's clearly a political agenda here, though it's unclear to me what exactly it is. I assume we'll learn more as this plays out.

16. Rice made

a mistake herself, which I would have never made. I find that a flaw with a lot of Democrats. You have to know who you are dealing with. She still maintains, that McCain is honestly concerned about what happened in Benghazi. I don't give him anything and neither his Party. That is why I still maintain, when you deal with a snake, then expect him to strike if you give him an opening. That is what you are dealing with. McCain is the one that needs to apologize and do some explaining. I still don't believe the characterization portrayed about Al Qaeda as the primary perpetrator of those events. I have yet heard them attach it to Ansar Al Sharia, because witnesses only linked them. The only references to Al Qaeda, was some guy, the was imprisoned from Libya and placed in Guantanamo. That person was released by the U.S. Government. He eventually ended up in one of militia's that fought against Ga daffi. If that is the link McCain and the CIA are making, that is weak. So if Rice herself is conceding this to McCain, she is just trying to appease them too, just to get their support. The Democrats should just stop this appeasement strategy period, because it shows weakness. I also see this flaw, when President Obama right after he won, immediately offered to appease Mitt Romney. Romney would be the last person, that I would offer anything, but they are always trying to placate Public appearances by compromising their principles. The Democrats need to move away from this.

"Appeasement strategy"? What appeasement strategy?

Your statement here seems to imply something - "I still don't believe the characterization portrayed about Al Qaeda as the primary perpetrator of those events." But what is your point?

24. If I may...

I believe the point is that Rice is laboring under the delusion that she's dealing with rational adults. That if she gives McCain a reasonable explanation for what occurred in Benghazi, he will then acknowledge that it was a tragic occurrence that could not have reasonably been avoided, and that Amb. Rice spoke based on the information that she was given by the intelligence communities.

Of course, that's not the case. McCain is an addled halfwit who still thinks he has relevance in national politics. And he's going to do his "Abe Simpson" impersonation until he destroys what miniscule amount of credibility he has left.

6. Lightning quick exit because they were LYING.

And they know it.

These petty Senators really need to get their clocks cleaned. Their arrogance is too appalling, vindictive, and pathetic to be a U.S. Senator.

Please Harry Reid! Get rid of the filibuster and weaken the GOP minority since some idiotic people in some states can't seem to be able to.

get his pound of flesh out of respect for him. Respect? Why??

I guess he still isn't over having lost from "that one" nor is he over Ambassador Rice's comment back in 2008, "calling his policies "reckless" and dismissing the Arizona Senator's trip to Iraq as "strolling around the market in a flak jacket." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susan_Rice )

Ouch. I can see why.

13. Lindsey looked like a grease ball. Did anyone else notice his

shiny, greasy looking head? Was it sweat or grease? Don't know, but they obviously ALL coordinated their hasty comments so they all essentially voiced the SAME concern. These people know NO shame and will continue with their games and faux outrage. McCain just makes me sick with his comments, especially after trying to sound reasonable only a couple of days ago. It's time for him to go. Talking about incompetence? What about HIS incompetence in flying planes? Should he have been through an inquisition for his terrible record? Oh, I guess not. He'd rather talk about someone else's incompetence. Jackass.

14. What the hell are these intellectually challenged chuckleheads trying to prove here?

Is this just a clusterfuck clamor for prominence? I seriously don't get this. And, yeah, I don't need to be reminded that these are just a bunch of white folks publicly going all Aunt Pittypat with the vapors about another AA woman being named for arguably the second most important job in the world. But where was all the outrage when the first AA woman was in that same position? They didn't have any "concerns" about Kindasleazy back then - even after she notoriously was captured saying "we just never could have dreamed that terrorists would take a jet and fly into a bulding, then another". That brilliant canard coming just about a week after the television show The Usual Suspects had aired a pilot episode with just that scenario playing out on our national television screens.
