Aren't the people who cry about there being a War on Christmas more annoying than the supposed people who are against Christmas. They also seem to be the ones that aren't exhibiting Christmas spirit.

(75 posts)War on Christmas, War on the Mind What's the Difference? Anything coming out of a Republican's mouth these days always amounts to the same thing - A feeble attempt to subvert the reasoning of the listener.

(8,217 posts)To most of them, it is a "Spending" holiday. It is so massively commercialized that it lost a lot of its religious significance.
If they really want to start a War to Promote Christmas, they should go against the stores and the rampant consumerism, since this thing is supposed to be about introspection and being charitable. I don't see them doing that...
Just have a lot of nerve.

(30,247 posts)I find that some of the atheist activists have become a royal pain in the butt. Don't want to celebrate Christmas? That's fine, but don't ruin it for everyone else. How about a little tolerance for Christians and people of all faiths?
I enjoy the Christmas displays and the lovely windows in Manhattan. I look forward to seeing the tree at Rockefeller Center before heading to FL for the holidays. I also have no problem with the creche. There's nothing wrong with spreading good will, goodness knows that there are enough depressing problems around the world.

(442 posts)Christians are totally wrong about Christmas in the idea that it belongs to them. It's a total secular Holiday. And really, historically it's just an amalgam of ancient traditions and holidays that because a Roman Emperor patronized the growing cult of Christianity by changing the name, Christians think it's theirs.
