1. This is a very dumb direction to take
|
Most decent people understand that extraordinary circumstances come with allowances.
I think this sort of thing is deeply stupid. When you've spent years in a prison camp, then you can talk. Until then, you look petty and desperate. |

I got a lot of things I dislike this guy for, but I'm not going to judge what happened to him when his bones were being broken on a regular basis, and he was alone in a room for years at a time.
There are certain things for which you just deserve respect and the benefit of the doubt. What happens under torture in defense of the country qualifies. |

No good will come from trashing a war vet. Or being perceived as doing so.

2. torture is a valid excuse for singing, but being called a hero
|
is genetic favor, his pappy and grandpappy were military elite. McCain on his own merits, could not be dogcatcher

3. People will say anything during torture.
|
I'm not a fan of McCain in the least, but this is just too rough.

6. Its not too rough. His info killed fellow servicemen.
|
He should have martyred himself & been a real "hero".
More repugnant, is his flip-flop on torture. First he was against it, then and now he's for it. He's no songbird, he's a pig at the trough. |

4. What is at issue is that McCain has always claimed
|
he never gave information while a prisoner. It's the hypocrisy on his part. And it's the willing ignorance on the part of those who have instead called him a hero. I believe that his fellow prisoners would have nothing to do with him after they were returned, although they did not go as public as they could have about his co-operation with the North Vietnamese.
Oh, and those same fellow prisoners have said McCain was not tortured to the extent that he claimed he was. |

5. It's why he is called "lyin john" by people who know him best.
|
I keep watching him on the tv, hoping that thing on his neck will blow. This sonofabitch tried to sell us sara, in case you forgot.

Someone had to win it.
