Archconservatives: anger, denial but no acceptance of Obama's victory

By Tom Cohen, CNN

"SNIP..........................................

So far this week, prolific blogger Judson Phillips on Tea Party Nation has called for boycotting the Electoral College to prevent validating the election result and lamented the triumph of liberalism in destroying national unity and therefore America's greatness.

Over at RedState.com, a more sophisticated political analysis echoes calls by Republican leaders to better communicate conservative principles instead of softening or dropping them.

Founder and CNN contributor Erick Erickson, who rejected any talk of electoral fraud or an unfair Obama victory, wrote Tuesday that "there'll be no hand-wringing here and there sure as hell won't be any apologies for fighting for what we believe in."

"Republicans are not successful when they run campaigns as the rich patrician out to make government more efficient so it can be more helpful," said another Erickson post Tuesday. "Republicans win with conservative populists who run as men who pulled themselves up in life fighting big government and its cronies."

What "free stuff" are they talking about?

I'm not getting free stuff, and I don't know anyone who is. What in the world do they mean?

A coworker was pissed off one day (several months ago) telling me this story how he saw this family of people in the grocery store paid with food stamps, and then got into a car that was better than what he owned. He said when he saw that, he felt angry.

They also think people on unemployment are "lazy." That's all over the right-wing sites.

I haven't gotten any of this so-called "free stuff" and, unless I'm mistaken, whatever the government is paying for us to have, we are all actually paying for through our taxes (which, for the most part, I will gladly do).

which makes me wonder if O'Reilly has ever wanted or owned 'stuff'. Oh! Who am I kidding?! O'Reilly is a paragon of virtue! My bad.

They love democracy and "freedom"- as long as people "make the right choices" (i.e. the ones that support whatever they and their corporate benefactors support). Remember, as one of their "guiding lights" once said, they don't want *everyone* to vote- because if everyone did, they'd be severely marginalized.

Leaving it all to the vagaries of chance is so undemocratic! It's just not a good way to rule ya know.

They are furious when government does anything to *help* ... even if it's something like disaster relief. I mean, who the fuck in 2012 thinks government shouldn't help in disaster relief?

They don't want government to help, but they have no problem with government making health care decisions for women, or telling people who they can marry, or refusing to let government protect people's rights. They have no problem with government torturing people, bombing and occupying other countries, or wiretapping your phones.

The repubs are stuck on the notion that certain groups of people are lazy and don't work so they don't won't tax payers money benefitting them. I hate that way of racist/ selfish thinking.
