I'm worried the hostess workers will somehow be convinced to buy the company.

And people aren't eating junk these days, particularly not carbohydrates. Just a feeling i have.

4. But people are buy more artisanal breads. I know we buy

more ciabatta than sliced whole wheat these days. I'm not even sure how the hostess employees would pay to buy the company...whether they'd use their pensions to do it. I'm just worried they are getting scammed.

5. If they buy it for the pennies on the dollar I believe it will be a great investment for them.

Fuck the CEOs.

6. Employee owned is not a bad thing

It could be the best way they all keep their jobs. Plus any profit goes to the owners.

Hostess is not all junk food. Everyone still needs bread.

7. People aren't eating junk these days?

That's why all the Seven-11's have gone out of business?

8. There are a lot of employee owned success stories...

people always have and always will eat junk. Some people don't but "junk food" accounts for huge dollars...huge.

11. After all, that would be COMMUNISM...

"The workers shall own the means of production and distribution of what they produce"... isn't that Marx's definition?

12. As an old left-wing broad

I applaud folks eating organic, healthier, granola, etc., but don't delude yourself by thinking the people you hang out with are the average. Many people still eat white bread and yes, junk food. White bread is often cheaper than whole wheat and I can guarantee that rolls on most Thanksgiving tables were white. As we laugh at the Fox News bubble, don't live in one of your own. There is more competition today than Hostess used to have, but they still have a substantial market.
