It seems Trumps business spiral isnt isolated to the Donald. And Ivanka Trump might soon need to take her name off of her fashion line now, as well. According to Yahoo Fashion, women are not only boycotting Ivankas brand, theyre also avoiding the stores that sell it.
Mr. Trumps campaign has brought a heightened scrutiny on his business dealings as well as the businesses of his children. But, even as Ivanka has pushed paid family leave, her own employees have called out her hypocrisy saying that they had to fight Ivanka Trump to gain it for themselves. While Mr. Trumps campaign attacks the US government and politicians on both sides of the aisle for trade laws, both Trump and Ivanka take advantage of cheap labor in China. Ivankas fashion line, like Trumps menswear, is manufactured by Chinese workers instead of workers in the United States where her father claims we dont make anything anymore.
Now, some women are turning away from Ivanka, thanks to her fathers attacks on women and womens rights. Yahoo talked to brand and digital strategy Shannon Coulter, who recently called on Americans to boycott Ivanka Trumps clothing and accessories. The company is estimated to be worth $100 million but not for long if these women have something to say about it.
Thanks to Trumps sexual assault accusations, Coulter launched the hashtag #GrabYourWallet a take on Trumps grab them by the p*ssy remark as a call to action for women to vote with their wallet. While Ivanka recently claimed shes just a daughter not a surrogate, shes been at her fathers side campaigning frequently. In a Cosmopolitan interview, Coulter explained that many women have given Ivanka a pass because its difficult to be objective about ones parents. But when the Access Hollywood tape came out, all bets were off. I think {women} took particular offense, Coulter said, as I did, to the fact that Ivanka tries to make feminism a part of her brand but is standing by, as an official campaign surrogate, a guy who is an alleged serial sexual assaulter of women. The disconnect was too big. And they were ready to speak up about it and flex their consumer power about it.
Cosmopolitan showcases Coulters tweets, but the hashtag has have earned an estimated 1 million impressions on Twitter, according to her analytics report. The campaign has quickly gone beyond her 14,000 Twitter followers and Ivanka might need to take her name off of her line if her business is to survive.

Mixed news for potential contractors: If Trump loses the Wall won't be built after all. If he wins and it is built, he probably won't pay you anyway.

(14,491 posts)I was going on an extended trip and not only needed new clothes, I needed enough clothes to take so I wouldn't be doing laundry every few days.
So off to do some clothes shopping, which I hate. I had picked up a few pieces of her line. When I noticed they bore her name, they went right back on the rack. I refuse to contribute any money to the entire family. I hope they lose it all and the Russians come to collect on the loans they made to Trump.

(13,776 posts)I don't go there often but I've never seen anything of hers there before. Isn't that where clothes are sent that aren't moving in fancier stores?
Not only did they have her name on the tag, so nope nope nope, they had big stupid lumpy seams right up the back of the legs.

(58,785 posts)and vulgar to me. Never would have considered Trump Tower, though I do wish I had had the opportunity to blow it off. At least I can say driving by to "see" it wasn't on our agenda. Don't say, "what's she talking about?" Lol. Apparently it's a big tourist attraction.
Ivanka's probably a fairly okay person in spite of supporting her dysfunctional dad. She's married to a similarly very wealthy orthodox Jew and has children, and she can just ignore the noise out here, turn the whatever over to her assistant to handle, and cruise on comfortably. I read that politicians who lose office due to sex scandals can run again in about 5 years or so, so damage to her brand would probably repair in a lot less than that. If she cares to.

(80,699 posts)I saw something in one of the magazines comparing a few Ivanka items to the more expensive haut couture stuff. It seems a lot of her stuff is less-expensive knock-offs of pricier designer labels. Anybody remember during the CONvention, after she'd introduced her dad, evidently her website featured a photo of her at the podium, taken from the side. The caption read something like "Shop Ivana's look from the Republican Convention!"
I thought it was pretty doggone tacky. Gee, she's out there trying to exploit her daddy's political adventurism to make a buck. And then I thought - "hmm... sounds pretty typical. Why am I not surprised?"
I wonder if she made any sales?

(150 posts)commenter here . I have always dissed the Trump family ever since he married first wife Ivana. Heaven knows I got their number the first time I saw these two.
Whenever I go into Stein Mart's store, everywhere there is Ivanka clothes line and her purse line taking over. I hate to see that because her trademark is overtaking stores.
Stein Mart stores should absolutely take her line of purses/clothes off the shelves or they will see a big unloading coming soon.

(3,275 posts)I don't imagine that I ever will. If I want to buy a dress, there are lots of other brands to choose from. Trump is not high quality stuff. It is cheap sometimes tacky stuff with an expensive name. I wouldn't want to look at the label of my clothes and have an unpleasant feeling every time I wore it.
