I really wish MSNBC would knock off the "it's all over" shit.

That's exactly what Trump WANTS from them. It will motivate his supporters and create a false sense of security in ours.

There's no good reason for MSNBC to STILL want a close race. They've already got all the ratings they're going to get.

5. The idea that people who think someone is winning won't vote is wrong and always has been.

It is exciting to vote for a winner. We don't get in trouble when we are winning but when some (not saying you) attack Democrats as Obama was attacked in 09 which resulted in people staying home and we lost the house and any chance of a progressive agenda...also allowed the GOP to gerrymander and keep it going. So, I think that most Dems want to run up the score and will vote enthusiastically.

election. There's too much at stake. If anything, I feel even more motivated knowing that he's getting crushed.

3. The Clinton supporters I know are more fired up than I've seen at any point.

I love the fact that after the last debate my Facebook feed has blown up with Clinton supporters. These are people who haven't a think all season. My coworkers are now openly talking about their support for Clinton. It's no secret we were all pretty silent up to this point. I'm loving the enthusiasm I'm seeing.

The demoralized group seems to be the Trump supporters. I wouldn't get upset that they are reporting the reality of the situation for the first time. Embrace the brilliance of the Clinton campaign and how they are peaking at the perfect moment.

I can tell you now, if Trump, or any R was up one single point they would scream at the top of their lungs that ITS ALL OVER!

People like a front runner, and this messaging more so serves to depress the candidate who is supposedly out of it.

Why get out to vote if he or she already has lost?

That was a big part of the suppression of the R vote in 06 and 08 ...

8. I don't think that MSNBC realizes that

the excitement turns towards seeing just how much we can gain in the Senate and House. It is not enough to just put Hillary in the White House. We also need to give her a Congress that won't obstruct her at every turn. The more Democrats that are elected, the harder it becomes for the Republicans to cause grid lock.

I think that excitement ramps up which will cause more people to go vote. The fact that the Republicans raised up a man so vastly unqualified to be President as their Candidate and the fact that the top Republicans refuse to denounce him drives home the everyone just how important this election up and down the ballot.

10. It is all over for Trump, but we still need to take the House and Senate and with the blowout.

People aren't stupid, they know they need to cast their vote or Trump could win.

This concern borders on defeatism, a method of vote suppression. There is a strong psychological advantage to going into an election the perceived winner.

right before the California primary. It likely suppressed the votes for both Bernie and Hillary since they thought their vote didn't matter as much anymore.

'we' should end EVERY sentence with GOTV! It ain't over until it's over! Don't get too complacent with the way things are now. Things could change in a flash.

to not vote for that reason?

Most people consider it their duty every four years (though they should consider it to be every two years).

They want to participate. This "concern" is always a bit strange.
