I will discuss it logically and honestly. I'm hoping that will be good enough to keep it civil. Like the above comment, just knowing that WE won, it good enough. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Good luck with that, right?

Also wanted to say that I'm grateful for being here, learning so much and feeling the kindred spirit. Long live the Democratic Underground. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

I dont know many real conservatives anymore, lot's of radical right wing Teabaggers, but no conservatives.
When you refer to Teabaggers as conservatives you are legitimizing them as a political voice. Teabaggers have no business claiming to be conservative Americans. Whether you agree with the American conservative school of thought or not- the political history of America includes conservatives and their contributions to American liberties and cultural identitfication. Teabaggers want desperately to be seen as a legitimate voice, so they insist-all evidence to the contrary- that they are conservatives. We know what they really are; radical birchers and KKKlan members in hiding. DUers should be conscious of this ploy and stop calling Teabaggers conservatives.
With any luck, Americans will start opening thier eyes to the radical, antiAmerican values and aims of the Teabagger movement. I hope a teabagger comes blundering into our family thanksgiving celebration so they can see how REAL Americans look and behave.

So the Conservatives aren't too grand either. They're the very reason Teabaggers are so prominent in politics right now.

So when Conservatives decide to take their party back and discard the Teabaggers as dead weight, then I'll begin to think about respecting them again. Until then they're the cause of and the reason that we have crazy teabaggers in power right now.

We wouldn't be allowed to rub it in, or even discuss it.....cause the head honcho conservative is also a bully and a loudmouth.

The family we will be eating with are all pretty liberal.

There is much to be thankful for!

My husband is truly upset that his "little" brother has turned out to be a Republican. His family isn't good at arguing for sport. It can get kind of tense and it's going to be a rather small gathering this year, as most of our adult kids are living out of state or working. It would really probably be best if we just talked football or something.
