O’Reilly: Black Voters Don’t Believe In ‘Self Reliance’ Or ‘American Exceptionalism’

By Annie-Rose Strasser on Nov 20, 2012 at 8:49 am

Since the night of the election, Bill O’Reilly has been looking for a scapegoat on whom he can blame Mitt Romney’s loss. He seems to have found one in African American, Latino, and female voters.

Before all the votes were even cast on November 6, O’Reilly came out with the theory that “The white establishment is now the minority,” and that women, black, and Latino voters are “non-traditional” voters who “feel that they are entitled to things and which candidate, between the two, is going to give them things?”

On his show last night, O’Reilly responded to comedian Jon Stewart’s criticism that mourning “traditional voters” is latent racism. But in his rebuttal, O’Reilly explained that the mass turnout of voters of color signaled an end to “traditional American voters.” The new voters, he argued, don’t understand “traditional American values”:

Barack Obama. I am a traditional American voter as is every other citizen of the United State. We vote for the best candidate. The best candidate won. If your candidate lost, so be it. That's how traditional elections work. We don't live in the 1950s, it's 2012 almost 2013. The gop are such sore losers. I wish they all would take their ball and go home and never come out again like the spoiled children they are.

Why don't you just go ahead and call them lazy welfare cheats, Bill? By the way, Bill, there are WAY more white people on the government teat than brown people.

Labor unions (see the bills to ban collective bargaining). Women (see transvaginal probe legislation). African Americans (voter ID laws). GBLT (ban on marriage). The elderly (Ryan's Medicare coupons). Latinos (Papers please laws). Vets (no mention of Afghanistan at the Repub convention), and finally the 47% in Romney's infamous video.

Given the number of people that your party directly insulted, it's a wonder that people voted for the GOP at all.

For most of 12 years I worked minimum wage jobs putting myself through college, and in most places as part of the small caucasian minority among the employees. Some very much larger black guys called me their "token" and I just went with it and had fun. They laughed at my restored VW bug "you ain't gettin no action in that - the damn backseat is too small." Whatever....

The bottom line is that the people I worked with worked a heck of alot harder than anyone I have worked alongside of since joining the professional class. Many worked two jobs, as much as 75 hours a week, no benefits and no overtime (40 on one job 35 on the other). At a particularly difficult financial moment (birth of my son) I did the same for 6 months. When you weren't working, you were sleeping.

O'Reilly has no clue.

to his personal bank account...just like clicks on a website.

The only surefire way to eventually rid our society of the "O'Reillys" is to not turn the dial to Fox or other kneejerks on the "Liberal MSM". Doesn't matter if you're clapping or yelling at him. Until that happens, they'll foment RW bile. I proudly can state that I have no idea what O'Reilly, Hannity, et al are spewing nor do I care. I watch and support those who are likeminded and informative. Thus, I enjoy and appreciate DU immensely.

One does not have to eat (or watch) garbage to verify that it exists.

70% of people on "welfare" are white. So, O'Reilly has serious blinders on.
