Dates to mark on your calendar

December 17, 2012 – Electoral College will formally elect a President and Vice President.

January 3, 2013 – The 113th Congress is sworn in.

January 6, 2013 – Electoral votes are formally counted before a joint session of Congress.

January 20, 2013 – Oaths of office are taken by the President and Vice President; the new presidential term starts at noon.

January 21, 2013 – Inauguration Day (as the 20th falls on a Sunday).

Thanks! Interesting about Jan. 20. I didn't know they would be sworn in before the Inauguration!

He took it once on the steps of the capitol in 2009, but had to retake it because of a Roberts' flub - and will take it again on the 20th and 21st!

The only other president to take four oaths was FDR.
