I wonder if he's actually as miserable as his face expressions seem to imply.

I wonder if old Mitch would suddenly decide to retire due to either a) health reasons or b) spending more time with the family.

4. I have been impressed with Ashley, but just wondering

Could a person get elected to the Senate without any government experience?

Obama had very limited government experience and that worked out for him. And Ashley has been heavily involved in humanitarian work, so you might compare her to Elizabeth Warren in some respects.

I think the answer to my question is "yes" but it is surely the main line of attack that McConnell would use.

Anybody from KY here that could say how popular Ashley is in KY?

26. How popular is Ashley in KY?

Very popular my dear. She was born in Ashland, KY. She graduated from the University of Kentucky. She is a regular attendant at NCAA Champion University of Kentucky Wildcat games, blue and white pom-pom in hand. She has a Masters from Harvard. She is up on issues, like anti mountain-top-removal (unafraid to go up against "Big Coal"). She also did some world advocacy work against childhood sex rings (Did I say that right?) Everyone knows who Ashley is in KY, all the way back to the farthest hollow. All we have to do is convince her to run. God knows KY needs a REAL advocate in the Senate, instead of thumb-with-a-face-on-it McConnell. When was the last time you ever heard Mitch McConnell mention the people of KY? He doesn't represent KY, he represents himself. Mitch doesn't look healthy to me. I hope and pray that he steps forward very soon and RESIGNS.

Yeah, I think Ashley would be a great Senator for Kentucky.

Most DEMs have more experience, but Ashley Judd comes from a common sense family. Could do well.

8. Rumor has it already that Ashley Judd ‘might’ throw her hat into the ring against Mitch McConnell

Ms. Judd was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky on May 9, 2009. She subsequently earned a Mid-Career Master in Public Administration degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 2010.

Take a look at the Humanitarian Work and Political Activities sections on the link below:

30. Well, then Dr. Judd, I'll be happy to donate some money to her campaign to remove the Turtle

if it would give her a real fighting chance to defeat the Turtle and put him out to the beach for his retirement - an oil slick-filled beach.

11. What a contrast! That would be so Sweet! Here's Mitch's bullshit statement to our President after

PBO was re-elected..

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, said: "The voters have not endorsed the failures or excesses of the President’s first term, they have simply given him more time to finish the job they asked him to do together with a Congress that restored balance to Washington. Now it’s time for the President to propose solutions that actually have a chance of passing the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and a closely-divided Senate, step up to the plate on the challenges of the moment, and deliver in a way that he did not in his first four years in office."

Thank you, johnlennon_shallrise

12. How did Mitch McConnell go from a net worth of $1.7m-$4.4m in 2004 to $9.8m-$44.5m in 2010?

War is big business for Republicans and so is looting the people's Fed! The only account that has any money in it is SS/Med, 2.7 trillion that the people have paid into all of their live! That money is the people's money not Republican money and it adds nothing to the deficit!

I HATE MITCH MCCONNELL! IS THAT BAD????

20. This would shake the Republican pillars to their core....

If Ashley throws her Kentucky derby hat in the ring, Mitch is instantly toast! The people of Kentucky despise him...This would easily surpass the momentum of the Warren/Brown race.

I'll vote for the Dem candidate regardless, but without a Democrat that dry humps a piece of coal on live television, Mitch will be guaranteed 6 more years.

She's eighth generation Kentuckian--she's got to have a few relatives who have worked in the biz. She objects to the razing of mountains to extract the crap, certainly, but she certainly sounds "pro exploited coal miner" to me, here:

Hopefully, we can get her mom and her sister to come around and support her. Never did understand why Naomi Judd, a single mother, would back a party that persecutes single mothers.
