GOP doubles down, Priebus To Seek Re-Election As RNC Chairman

says TPM, quoting CNN.
From CNN:

Several officials familiar with the process said they think as of now Priebus has enough support to win.

"He is reaching out to members about his plans to run for re-election. He enjoys deep support on the committee, and I expect him to be re-elected with overwhelming support support (sic). At this point, no one else is making any efforts to contact RNC members about challenging Priebus," one RNC member told CNN, on the condition of anonymity.

23. I am hoping Romney is arrogant enough to try again in 2016.

I am also hoping Republicans are dumb enough to nominate him again.

Him or Ryan.

6. I would be amazed

...if Priebus was re-elected. I mean this guy is ten times worse than Michael Steele..and I didn't think that was possible. If the GOP puts him in charge again...that's going to be a huge signal that there will not be much change from them. Of course..it may just mean that no one else want such a thankless job.

14. actually i'm betting nobody else wants it....

they all see the handwriting on the wall... by midterms we are likely to have the wind at our back on the economy...also there will be an aging of the gerrymandered districts, making more districts vulnerable..

throw in changing demographics, and a party that will have a hard time shedding the "southern strategy" image.. whomever takes the helm is in for an uphill fight... its a political dead end for the chairperson..

Priebus at this point has nothing left to loose.. (thats freedom for you)!

16. reince priebus = maximus gluteus maximus

Reince needs to stay, he's the perfect face for the GOP. He's arrogant, condescending and smug. Perfect!

In my 'encyclopedia of the democrat language', reince priebus is defined as 'maximus gluteus maximus'.

He is the one person I despise more than any other republican, including michelle bachman; what a truth twisting, manipulating spin doctoring sick pig.
He utterly hates the democrat party, self evident by listening to him, enough to maliciously malign with the first words in the morning coming out his mouth.
You'd think the republican party could come up with something better, only thing worse I can think of would be wayne lapierrre (nra bigot vice president for life)..

And while they're at it, run him for president in 2016!

18. The black guy wins big in '10, and they booted him.

The white guy loses big in '12, and they'll keep him.

Double good for Democrats. The idiot who lost will help us win in two years and it shows the GOP true colors.

20. Wouldn't they want to throw him out after the bad job he did?

They got rid of Michael Steele quickly, but Rince Priebus is much worse.

21. He will say and do anything to win...

...no matter how low. Tactics that included racism, lies, distortion. He was snarky, petty, and small. If they elect him again, they are signaling that they learned nothing from the election.

22. No president elect to propose

his own slate for party rule. Where did Priebus come from anyway? What undiscredited powers exist to take his head? Zero. He will be replaced sooner than later after the behind the scenes bloodletting comes up with a new king-in-waiting, but perhaps the entire next coup is being moved offstage at a distance from the shambles. And who cares? The post is so irrelevant to the real leadership that this is not a "democratic" issue. They have none.

They have enough a problem with competence without trying to put a genius in there without a decided direction.
