HuffPo: McCain Benghazi tantrum designed to keep him relevant

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/16/john-mccain-benghazi-committee_n_2145457.html

WASHINGTON -- Just four years ago, John McCain was the leader of the GOP. Today, he's the highest-ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, a perch from which the former fighter pilot is deeply engaged in the national conversation over war, terrorism and intelligence gathering.

But in January, the Arizona senator will lose his top-ranking committee seat due to term limits. The only ranking Republican spot available to him next session will be on the Indian Affairs Committee.

Unless, that is, the Senate creates a brand-new select committee. On Wednesday, McCain, flanked by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), proposed just that: a select committee with extensive authority to investigate the Benghazi, Libya, attack and the U.S. government's response.

The Republican most likely to hold the ranking spot on such a panel would be, of course, John McCain, giving the Arizona senator a new burst of relevance.

Graham is McCain's piss-boy, so we have our explanation for the Benghazi crapola coming from them both.

2. They should both resign and do it soon. Especially McCain

who has gone downhill fast since he picked Palin to run with him. I'd feel sorry for him, except I never cared for him in the first place.

4. Poor old McLame.

He needs to be put out to pasture. Lieberman did the smart thing and decided to retire.

5. He could try holding his breath 'til he turns blue. But I don't think that will work either.

9. Could you help me out with the source of this photo

and the other one that appears here often that has McCain looking like he's going to ass-grab Obama?

Are these manipulated photos or just a series of really unfortunate moments as far as McCain's posture went when someone snapped the photos?

Just curious.

15. Origionally, I found it with a Google search for "john mccain tongue".

It's hard to find the origional source, and I haven't found it yet. I've always assumed that it, and a second one from a different angle, are real photos. A number of people, however, have Photoshopped it with McCain and Lieberman, McCain and Palin, McCain and an ice cream cone, etc.

10. Obama should nominate McCain, and then Graham, for Sec of State.

Then, let Democratic Senators rip them to shreds for screaming about WMDs and the need to invade Iraq. Make them defend the positions they took. Make them blame the intelligence community.

It would be awesome!!!!

11. I think Romney should be

Undersecretary of Explaining Stuff.

Bill Clinton can explain why Democrats do what they do, and Mitt Romney can offer the Republican version.

12. I think the GOP chose Grahm and McCain to go after Susan Rice because.....

they are "Senators for Life" for the GOP, and will never face a real election challenge (they hope). The Republicans think McCain and Grahm cannot be hurt by making hateful asses of themselves, and thus were chosen to be the hatchet men.

Of course, once again the Republicans are not getting the message about offending women and minorities (Honestly, would they have criticized any white man of Susan Rice's accomplishments by calling him "not too bright", destroying their targets dignity?).

Anyway, all McCain has done is make himself look like an ass IMO, and will likely continue to do so.

14. Ah, now it makes even more sense why McCain is out before the cameras

(well, that always made sense..it's john freaking mccain) instead of atending Senate Meetings on Benghazi.

This is all about john mccain staying relevant.. I heard Susan Collins Shot Down his ruthless ambition Yesterday.
