Pelosi IS pretty old ...

and I love it!

I just looked up her bio. I had honestly thought she as 10-15 years younger than her actual age.

The only problem, she is making a pretty good case for the retirement age to be increased to 67

It might be hopelessly superficial but I do have to say- she looks GREAT for her age and is more proof that forward thinking progressive people come in all ages!

1. She works at it. That's nurture, not nature.

She had some work done a few years back; it has settled in nicely. She'd look her stated age, I'm thinking, if she hadn't taken advantage of surgical options.

That said, Luke Russert is an asshole.

10. I Gotta agree that Russert is an asshole.

But even if Nancy had work done, that's great. I am 73 years old and wish I could afford to have surgical work.

2. In her first two years under Obama,

I thought she did a heck a of job. The House passed massive amounts of legislation - some that died in the Senate.

And I think she knew that the Dems in the House were going to take a hit in 2010. But she soldiered her troops on to try as get as much done as they could.

I thought the question about her age was disgraceful. It shouldn't matter. All that should matter is whether she's capable of doing the job and with that, does she have the support of her colleges. Apparently she is and does.

4. It was disgraceful. Shame, really

Russert had so much handed to him- I wish he was more deserving of his father's legacy as a journalist.

5. But you gotta love her response to that question ...

when she said, "(something to the effect of) I suspect you really don't get how offensive that question is ..."

3. I'll say it...

She's hot.

Granted, I'm over 50 so my definition of "hot" may differ from someone else's. But all politics aside, I'd rather look at her than John Boehner.

7. I'm in my early 30s and I think she is hot too

Then again, I've always had a thing for older women

Not just because of her looks but also because of her passion, intelligence, depth and compassion

6. To the best of my knowledge, nobody ever brought up the topic of age with regard to:

Shirley Chisholm, Bella Abzug, Liz Holtzman, Pat Schroeder, Jeanette Rankin, Frances Perkins, Eleanor Roosevelt, Millicent Fenwick, Ann Richards, etc.

8. It doesn't matter if one uses generic Oil of Olay or La Mer...

67 IS the full retirement age for many Americans, and that's high enough.

11. Too high for many.

Waitresses, firemen, construction workers, and others who are on their feet all day, or do heavy physical labor come to mind. It's ridiculous to expect them to work until they're 62, let alone 67.

9. She looks about 10 years younger than her actual age, which is 72

I had always thought she was a baby boomer.
Then one day I looked up her bio.

She's been active in politics most of her life and is also the mother of 5 children.

I see Nancy as a trailblazer.
