Thomas, currently a judge on a state court in Florida, was recommended for the federal nomination by the Presidential Appointments Project, coordinated by the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, BuzzFeed reports.

I think two things:
First is that our expectations are more realistic. Let's face it, before we expected miracles from Obama. You don't go from a policy of greed to something closer to socialism in one term.
Second...he is different. He's had experience and now knows what kind of people he is working with. He knows republicans are people who don't care what's best for the country...they only care about pushing their agenda.

(4,309 posts)I think Obama will realize that the majority of the base that elected him (young people, minorities, women, progressives) actually much favor something more akin to Socialism than the "trickle down" lies that the republicans are always pushing. This will encourage him to go for a broke with a very progressive agenda in the second term.
At least I really hope so!
