Is this Benghazi thing all about impeachment?

The republican media complex has shifted from discussing the loss to talking even more about the "Benghazi conspiracy." I have yet to fully hear what exactly the conspiracy is, but they think there is one there. They are now saying that Petraus' affair and resignation is somehow part of the conspiracy. We know that the republicans are extremists and their base will never accept an Obama victory or second term. Are they focusing on this one incident because they are trying to impeach Obama? Is this their hail mary play? I mean, it clearly wont go anywhere but after what we saw over the last four years I wouldnt put it past them.

1. It was but not anymore.

The characters have been exposed as sleazy bumbling idiots. The republicans however are desperate and may still try something.

2. Given that impeachment requires a two-thirds vote

and Republicans have a minority in the Senate and a slim majority in the House, I don't think even the masters of delusion are seriously contemplating it. The Benghazi thing is just to keep the pressure on Obama and attention away from themselves.

11. Impeachment only requires a majority vote in the House

removal from office requires a 2/3 vote at the "trial" in the Senate.

3. It was to prevent Obama's reelection

Now I think it is to stir up the base and drive up ratings for Fox News and talk radio.

4. Michelle Malkin has called for his impeachment.

But, so far, it is about using this disaster to hurt the President and destroy is effectiveness, thus making it easier for them to run a campaign in 2014 and 2016.

It is about power.

I really don't think, however, they will go there.

26. I was against impeachment...

...but now since the great MICHELLE MALKIN has come out in favor of impeachment (what a surprise!), it MUST be the right thing to do! After all, Michelle Malkin is such an intelligent, rational, objective, morally-uprighteous, woman of God!

6. They don't know what the conspiracy is either.

Per usual, they're going to fling a bunch of poop at the wall and see what sticks.

It may have been Cantor's interference that caused this whole thing to blow up, so I'm not expecting Petraus to hand him anything on a silver platter. In fact, it could turn out to be a complete circus, damaging the Republicans more than anyone.

7. The Republicans don't understand that almost everyone

gets the "fog of war" confusion and the danger of have personnel in a country that has gone through or is going through a civil war.

The county gets it - the Republicans do not. They are just going to waste a bunch of taxpayer dollars on this snipe hunt.

9. We haven't started our

President's second term and now this impeachment sh*t hits the news. Just remember what the Repuks endured after Clinton fake impeachment. They took one hell of a hit. Somebody gots some splanin to do!! Does the Teabillies really want to go this route? If they do,oh yah, bring it on. 2014 will have the results that I had forecasted and that is the GOP will be the modern Wig Party. Notice the fake out reach the repuks are engaged in in the last week. Interesting.

12. Hope of impeachment is all the republicans have left

and when they pursue that path, they will seal their doom in 2014.

president clinton's approval numbers soared during and the witch hunt
the republicans led for impeachment.

so yeah. bring it the fuck on!

13. It would pass the House on a party-line vote, never even see the light of day in the Senate,

and Obama's approval ratings--much like Clinton's did--would fly into the ionosphere.

Republicans are idiots if they think it would turn out any different than it did last time they tried to impeach a Democratic President.

Some repuke representative saying that people have testified to that. Andrea Mitchell was interviewing the guy just before the presser.

15. In the House maybe but the Senate is Dem controlled and would never pass for removal from office.

It is pointless. I think the point is to make President Obama look bad. That is about it.

17. Although impeachment would go nowhere...

don't forget, these are the same idiots who crashed our credit rating with their debt ceiling tantrum and voted to repeal "Obamacare" something like 30 times. They are not grownups, and there's little reason to expect them to pass up an opportunity to grandstand for the conservative media infotainment complex, regardless of the wisdom of the move.

Unless they do learn something from the presidential election. But snug in their gerrymandered districts, I'd bet against it...

So, we had the political ability to do it.

Otherwise, lots of impeachable stuff in those other years.

22. Ambassador Stevens championed the Libyan revolution

If he were still alive, these same wingnuts who now supposedly care about him would probably be condemning him as an agent of the muslim brotherhood.

They can't even decide what the cover-up or conspiracy is in this fake scandal.
This is Whitewater 2.0 - where the GOP acts like they have something, throw shit at a wall and hope some of it sticks.
It will get them nowhere.

29. It was the GOP's October Surprise that backfired.

They were hoping to make this Obama's Iran Hostage Crisis, and thus Carterize him.

And it blew up in their faces.

Now they're taking what's left and flinging it at the wall to see what sticks.

30. If you wanna know the latest bullshit the right-wing is pulling, check out Yahoo "News"...

They always foolishly jump on any bandwagon and plaster it across their news feed headline. What a crock.
This week they keep posting huge headlines about the secession.
And still are trying to keep Romney in the news.
Bleh!!!
