"We, the 53%?"
Mary Jo Alton from Dallas sent a letter to the WSJ claiming that Romney lost because he played it too safe.
And then she added: "It's safe to say that right now the future looks bleak for those of us in the 53%." I did not bother to read further. But I think that this is the first time I've seen anyone publicly taking pride in "we the 53%." http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323894704578107752408168718.html

1. May they all fall.

All the arrogant Americans who look down their noses at people who struggle to make ends meet. Fuck them. I want to see them all fail miserably and have to beg for the basic necessities. No doubt they won't get half the scorn they've shown others. Who do these people think they are? I think the scales are going to tip on some people.

2. "I'm the 53%" is a meme from right-wing blogger Erick Erikson
|
It was created over a year ago. I'm surprised more people didn't connect it to the Rmoney 47% comments.

4. Romney's comments were from May

unless these terms were used before and that fund raising in Florida was the first time that that "concept" became public.

October of last year as far as I can tell. I recall a number of rubes using it as a signature on a couple of non-political boards I go to. |

7. Definitely, it was a kind of shit response to the 99% meme
|
And it was doing the rounds not long after the OWS stuff started.
It begs the question why are you having to work three jobs in the world's richest nation? |

9. What a bunch of selfish idiots!

I try to vote for what is best for my country - not just myself. When my husband and I were in college we were part of their "47%." I appreciated the help and we realty needed it! Now we're doing fine and if we need to pay more in taxes so that we have a stronger middle class and a stronger country that's fine. Of course nobody likes to pay taxes, but if the economy gets better then we ALL benefit. Why can't people understand this simple concept?
