some Sanders supporters were putting into their position. A big chunk of that support was simple bandwagoning.

It was to be "different".
Some of the Sanders-now-Johnson people think weed means more than anything in their life, and some are just revengeful, spiteful assholes.

I'm a 60 year old white woman. It was all about the issues for me. Frankly, I'm not sure how "outsider" Johnson really is. He was a Rebuplican who switched to Libertarian. I guess it's better to be a big fish in a small pond.

They regularly post on Robert Reich's facebook page with a their-way-or-the-highway petulance.

They don't understand what Bernie is trying to do. They call him a traitor, a sell-out. It's so sad.

I think the Clinton campaign or a supportive group needs to target some info/education towards millenials about the real nature of Libertarianism. It's more than just freedom to smoke dope.

the only issue facing the US and it isn't the most critical. And there are Libertarian positions that would shock millenials.

Or equally trivial, however you want to view it. Not understanding this fact causes confusion and frustration.

In my opinion, we should try to entice people into sharing our world view, and then point out how the Dems are the best for moving things in that direction. Easier said than done, but still, that's my opinion.

Sorry to paint with a broad brush, but libertarianism is so often such a goofy, cobbled-together, inherently contradictory mess of positions. It's just, in this election at least, a petulant protest vote.

For alot of these people, they consider themselves above the tastes of 'regular' people, which includes their politics, which is more about fashion and impressing their friends more than anything else.

It's also telling that they didn't move over to Stein, which simply confirms the 'Bernie Bro' stereotype, especially since alot of these guys voted for Obama, who is basically the same ideologically as Hillary, who would advance similar policies.

Johnson is less willing than Republicans to screw over people to give corporations what they want. It's the contrast from low expectations, plus the pot, that makes Johnson seem likeable.
