TRANSCRIPT: Bob Woodward on MTP thie morning--the 'starting point' for fiscal cliff negotiations

TRANSCRIPT: Bob Woodward on MTP thie morning--the 'starting point' for fiscal cliff negotiations is NOT January's automatic sequestration of defense spending and automatic expiration of Bush tax cuts.

Rather, he alleges, it is the last offer a desperate White HOuse made last summer and Boehner turned down.

CAN YOU BELIEVE the brazenness of this Republican shill? A decisively re-elected President Obama is to start conceding MORE to the Rs from the weak position he had last summer, when the Rs created the looming fiscal cliff by their obstinence? The election made no difference--Republicans have the upper hand in cleaning up the fiscal mess they made?

WHAT'S YOUR OPINION?

(David Gregory) "I want to stick with the fiscal cliff. ... Bob Woodward, ... you have a document here, a secret White House document that goes back to the grand bargain negotiations. Tell us what it is and what it means ....

MR. WOODWARD: Well, this is the confidential doc last offer the president, the White House made last year to Speaker Boehner to try to reach this four trillion dollar grand bargain. And it’s long and it’s tedious and it’s got budget jargon in it. But what it shows is a willingness to cut all kinds of things, like TRICARE, which is the sacred health insurance program for the military for military retirees; to cut Social Security; to cut Medicare, and there are-- there are some lines in there about we want to get tax rates down, not only for individuals but for businesses. So Obama and the White House were willing to go quite far, in a sense this is the starting point, and I guess you’re going to put it up on your website…

GREGORY: Absolutely. Yeah.

MR. WOODWARD: …after the budget wonks can…

GREGORY: They can see it. Yeah.

MR. WOODWARD: …parse through it.

GREGORY: Right, we just got it here and we’ll-- we’ll put it on the web. But that’s the point. And congressman, I guess the-- the question that Bob and I talked about is, there’s a lot of spending pain in there that Democrats are going to have to go back to their folks and say, hey, this is the pain you’re going to have to suffer..."

from Republicans who begin fiscal cliff negotiations with the White House next week. But this effort to use Woodward as agent provocateur is so transparent it has to be an epic fail.

Always has been. He was on the Chris Matthews show this morning still pushing the false meme that it was President Obama was responsible for blowing up the debt ceiling negotiations last year, when every other source has shown that it was the Tea Party caucus in the House that did it.

on the tube, they were on. I listened for about 5 minutes and then hit the clicker. I heard the shit posted and nearly gagged. Dick Gregory should just go dancing with KKKarl.

Media Whores Online awarded that liar with it's coveted Whore Of The Year Award in 2002. He's lived up to that ever since. There isn't a single Republican talking point he won't spit out.

F you, Bob Whoreward, and F the Whoreshington Post, too!

can see right through this snake. First, he tried to back stab the President during the election by claiming it was President's Obama fault doing the obstruction by the rightwing GOP Congress but his attempt failed. He was also trying to give the impression President Obama came off weak to Nancy Pelosi when she put him on hold. That is what you get for giving a snake a personal interview with the President. Now he has interjected himself into the discussions the President has with Boehner and this right wing Congress again. This guy is a snake. If I was the Obama Whitehouse, I would put this snake in his place and he wouldn't get anywhere near the whitehouse for the rest of my term. Nobody elected Woodward to anything. If Boehner thinks he have any leaverage because of this snake's meddling, President Obama should bring him from Disney World immediately.
