Yay Washington - several top posts on DU right now!

So, there's the post about Jay Inslee winning the governership of Washington - excellent, since McKenna (Republican candidate) joined in the lawsuit opposing Health Care Reform.

The post about the 21-25 year olds, about a conversation that took place in Seattle, where these young folks expressed not only relief about Obama's winning, but palpable ANGER towards Republicans, and all their party stands for.

And about our Senator (one of our two women senators, both Dems!) marching forward with the biggest cojones of all towards the fiscal cliff / economic game of chicken.

oh and

MARRIAGE EQUALITY, REC MARIJUANA - BOTH PASSED!

Great year to be a Washingtonian!!! Feel very fortunate!

1. Amazing isn't it!

Can't remember a better election outcome than this one.
My county is pretty red but I know I can drive to a blue county in less than an hour.

5. Clallam County

the map was quite blue on the west except Clallam. It used to be die hard Democratic until it turned into a retirement community. Thank goodness we have Jefferson County (Port Townsend) in our legislative district - otherwise we would be in trouble.

9. We are in Clallam County, too

The minute my husband walked into his office Wednesday, one of his co-workers said he should move to PT to be with all the other liberals. He showed him the article in the paper with the county breakdowns and my husband noticed that only 47 more people voted for romney than President Obama here. We aren't red anymore it seems, if those numbers are correct.
The co-worker hasn't said another word about it since.

14. Only if she uses her voter contact info to stay with electoral politics

The much better known Frank Chopp won, but in a heavily Dem LD, voting farther left is something that a lot of people want to do.

You can take the Washingtonian out of the Cascades but you can't take the Cascades out of a Washingtonian no matter where he/she goes.

19. Feel same way

Over in leavenworth here....very surprised 502 passed here...mitt won in our county.

It's true once you cross the mountains things change...but we are a tourist town with lots of west side visitors so that changes things a bit.

The old timers who run the place would like it to be 1950's but there are those of us lefties in major volunteer positions that are working for change from within.

21. Proud of wa state.

I did not agree with all that passed (taxes, charter schools), but all in all it was a great election season. We must neutralize Tim iman's influence. He is making millions destroying our economy.
