Middle-class, largely white suburb, gives Obama the lead on election night.

The demographics of the area I reside in, go against the meme that Obama was elected, because he appeals mainly to poor and/or minority voters. The racial makeup of the city is approximately 95% White, 2% African American, 0.50% Native American, 2% Asian and about 1.5% of the population is Hispanic or Latino, and so on.

There are roughly 10,000 households in the area. 50% are married couples living together and 30% have children under the age of 18. However, there is a large retirement population as well.

The median income for a household in the area is roughly 55K, and the median income for a family is roughly $60K. The per capita income is about $25K. About 3% of families, and 4% of the population are below the poverty line.

And ... OBAMA WON big! In some precincts he won by more than ten points.

Explain that, Faux News lovin' racists!

1. and this obtained numerous times across the US. 56% of Obama voters were nonHispanic whites;

Obama got 41% of the total non-Hispanic white vote; Romney got 59%.

both are 9% points away from getting 50% of the white vote;

the media plays to racism; they are nefariously trying to entrench the meme that Obama voters are welfare-dependent people of color. There is nothing wrong with welfare-dependent voters, and needless to say, only racists would think therer is anything negative about getting the vote of people of color.

more here on how the breakdown of the Obama vote:

2. Obama won Fairfield County

due to turnout in the lower half.

Westport, Fairfield, Weston, and Stamford went to Obama. Bridgeport, of course went heavily to Obama.

3. Vermont is 98% white. It went more solidly for the President

than any other state. Every County and all but about 3 towns of the hundreds of towns in the state went for the President.

4. Exactly.

This story has played out over and over in America.

The media meme about who voted for Obama, is another myth.

6. President Obama won in 8 out of the 10 Richest Counties

in the US, too. And, he won in La Jolla, California where mitt has one of his homes and it's a very wealthy area of San Diego. Obama won in San Diego, too, which is a more conservative part of California.
