of obsolete regulations.

most regulation is there for a very good reason, but maintaining a good set of regulations takes constant effort to get keep up with the times. that means more government employees with bigger budgets, not fewer. ironically, cutting budgets in the name of reducing "red tape" can mean that obsolete regulations stay on the books because there isn't money and staff to review and remove them.

but -- hand-washing???

to another restaurant. That's one of the basics you teach your children about health and hygiene.

I'm not a compulsive handwasher, but the first thing I do before I prepare food for myself or anyone else is wash my hands. I cook with my grandkids and the first rule is wash your hands with soap and water.

...reason - I'm a nurse practitioner in a pediatric office), and the very idea that ANYONE would think it was OK to not wash hands after using the bathroom is completely revolting to me.
