The President's Bully Pulpit. Please use it in a savvy way, Mr. President.

I don't think that the President used the bully pulpit effectively in his first term. There were a number of issues such as the ACA and taxes where I think he could have had a far greater impact on public opinion. Now he has the opportunity, and clearly he has the team, to really line up public opinion behind him.

The President no longer has to worry about re-election. That's a big difference, though he does have to think about mid-terms, but I believe by using social media to get his message out and to involve people, he can get increased backing for his agenda.

1. the midterms are what would make the bully pulpit effective

run against Boehner and McConnell the way he ran against Mitt. Spend less time golfing with Boehner, and more time getting his supporters to vote in the midterms.
