Take back the American value mantle...

Since when we Democrat let Repub take over the mantle as the bearer of traditional American values? Hard working, can-do spirit, self-reliant, rugged individualism, but also family-centered, community-centered, compassionate... are all American values that are as Democratic as, if not more Democratic than Republican.

Why the hell do we let them take over these values, and let them call us the party of welfare and moochers???

The difference between us and them is that we view the country like a family. Every child is given the best opportunity to pursue individual happiness and achievement, but the successful children would also help nurture the less fortunate, the disabled siblings to give them the best life we can. The Republican way is to snuff out these less fortunate and throw them down the river.

I occasionally read, or listened to idiotic RW radio talk show host raving about entrepreneurial individuals who create new technology and new companies without government help etc. Do these RWers know that these people tend to be more Democratic than Republican? Just go to Silicon Valley or Boston suburb and talk to them. Most are highly liberal, because that is the nature of enlightenment and progressiveness. It was just unbelievable listening to these idiots on radio!

But we have to have a way to get our voice out there. There needs to be more progressives on the radio and quick. We need not talk down the republicans(they put themselves down there, we just need to ignore them), we need to talk up progressives. We need shine the light on the good liberal families. We need to put a spot light on non traditional families, until they are considered traditional. We need to show women in the strong roles they actually possess. We need to back our unions and show how they make our country stronger. We need to blow our own damned horns for once!!! It needs to be a revolution of sorts. We need to ignore the republicans and move forward.
