"Most Blacks and Hispanics will never go for the GOP because the GOP doesn’t offer enough freebies."Last edited Fri Nov 9, 2012, 01:11 PM USA/ET - Edit history (3)
Ok, I just saw that quote on a freeper thread that was discussed in this The Atlantic article http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2012/11/some-republicans-their-coalition-just-it-thank-you-very-much/58864/.
The freep article is on the percentage of the "white vote" that Romney got and how it was similar to what Raygun received in his landslide victory. Of course, as has been the case this week, the Republicans are trying to figure out ow win in this 2012 America. From what Ive been reading and seeing this week, the republicans are all but admitting that their party's sole purpose is to promote and maintain white heterosexual male socio-ecomonic hegemony over the US. That is their plan. Rich whites stay rich and poor whites can be complacent because "they are still better than the women and the coloreds." Why else would they fear engaging women and non-whites? In their call for discussion on their current situation Ive yet to see them acknowledge the sharp racial and misogynistic overtones of their members is at all a problem. They seem to think they are the prettiest girl at the prom and if no one likes them it's because they are squares. So instead of saying, ok guys no more" vote white, marry white, employ white" stuff, they double down on their rhetoric. Time and again this week Ive seen things like the above: "Most Blacks and Hispanics will never go for the GOP because the GOP doesn’t offer enough freebies." That's all non-whites are to them, just things that scream to be fed. To them, these arent people who have been deprived of the opportunities we whites have enjoyed, these arent people who live through hardship. Nope, they are just things. Ok, look...If you want to promote your party and its policies, STOP MAKING RACIST REMARKS. You will only alienate those who may listen to your argument. You cant expect someone to join your ranks when you spit in their face. The republicans cant rebound from this, sorry. 2010 was a fluke because it was an off-year election. The republicans killed themselves. They lived by the sword and they will die by it. If the Republican Party wants to exist in any form, it will need to purge itself of the hate-filled members they bred.

Insult, lie about them and belittle them. Keep it up, and you'll never win another national election again. Please.

Latinos will not come along until they can get green cards for their family members. And I do think a serious outreach needs to be made to black preachers (not the Jeremiah Wright kind, the actual Bible-believing kind). They have been on the cutting edge of this societal decay for many decades, and should be our best allies in trying to combat it." |

4. There is still the problem of
|
No freedom for women to make their own healthcare choices...
No freedom from having to carry the whole tax burden while the 1% pay less No freedom from being stopped on the street because of your skin color No freedom from being raped by the banks and credit card companies due to less regulation... The lists goes on, and I'm sure they will provide us with fresh ones if allowed. |

6. Policies that would provide an affordable way to go to college and a minimum wage
|
that would help one to pursue that college degree would probably reduce the number of people asking for "free stuff".
Of course I don't expect that concept to enter a FReepers brain anytime soon. |

7. How fucking typical. Most African-Americans and Latinos will never vote for the GOP...
|
...because they do not appreciate being lied to, or pandered to, or treated like second-class citizens. And the comments about "stuff." Stuff? I got your stuff right here, you dumb, racist motherfuckers!
What African-American and Latino citizens want:

9. Respect..

..would come (I propose) by a change of republican policy, not from their idea of "token" representation by minorities and women.

Seriously. It seems the only thing the GOP respects is ruthless assholes with money.

comes from the federal government was decided by a mixture of representatives and Senators elected by the people.

My one exception was our state senator Pat Vance. She's moderate and good for the state. She also ran unopposed because nobody can challenge her.
