They're REALLY mad

Had a business dinner with 3 conservatives. All I heard was the Bill O'Reilly "free stuff" quote over and over....a lot of anger. They kept saying how horrible things were going to be. I made the statement things don't have to be horrible if people talk to each other....lol..they completely ignored it and kept going.

It's going to be awhile before folks get rational again.

3. They have no clue. RobMe would have ramped up the looting beyond what even Bush and Cheney did.

His mission would have been to boost himself and his boys into the very top of the 1%, if he's not already there himself. RobMe couldn't actually steal for himself while in office but he could hand out favors and rig everything possible for his allies and cash in after he left.

Unless those guys were real heavy hitters in line to profit from some privatization scams, I have news for them. They weren't getting any.

5. I talked to a republican relative....

She is shocked and depressed...doesn't understand...says she must have become "out of touch" with what was going on.

Uh yeah, that's what happens when you watch Fox news!

13. She sounds like someone who can be reached

Keep talking to her if you can. That she would admit becoming "out of touch" is an opening statement. Good luck!

6. We have to expect a lot of what is being said!!!!!

Most of us have been talking for years about what would happen as they started waking up out of their republican induced coma. I think we all knew it would not be a pretty sight. Some probably didn't believe it was going to be this BAD. But you must remember, they have been indoctrinated with a lot of LIES. Not mis-leading statements. Not mis-truths. not mis-speaking. Flat Out LIES. And now that they have even Broadcast Journalist who believed that garbage, we see just how cold Republicans really have been. They Corrupted their own Party with LIES so the TRUTH is a Reality that HURTS.

20. You are spot on!

I told a friend in Texas last year the Republicans had no chance. He thought I was crazy. I simply said there is a whole world outside of yours that looks nothing like the one you live in...and they want something better. Lol I am sure he's forgotten. It is definitely going to take awhile.

7. One of my sisters has gone totally Faux

... Its really sad to see, actually - she posted a rant on FB about how now she gets to contine working 50 hours a week to support freeloaders & nobody better ever ask her to donate to anything again because she pays too much in taxes already and maybe her daughter should just get pregnant & the whole family can go on welfare ... Omg, she drank a 5 gallon jug of GOP kool aid.

I am so disappointed.

9. So how does her daughter being pregnant

allow her to quit HER job. And if she thinks the entire family can live on the pittance her daughter collects, she is insane. And the only people who will get medical care is her daughter and her baby. They really have not clue how this system works. If they did, they would realize how awful it really is.

15. Oh, I know .. I've been there.

I was badly injured in a car accident while pregnant, in my early 20's. Went on all means of assistance for a couple years and then got into college, got a job on campus & got my degree. Being on welfare sucked - no bon bons & steak for us, no cable tv, certainly no Cadillac. We survived but certainly were aware of the stigma & 2nd class treatment.

My daughter is now a senior in college & thanks to MY degree, I own a house ( read: pay property taxes) and have a great income (read: pay income taxes). And because I'm single, my tax rate is a hella higher than my married sister's. But I'm not complaining because it's my part of the social contract - to make sure that the services that took care of my daughter and me, are there to take care of the next ones that need it.

Wingers simply do not comprehend this.

18. Congratulations on your success

and thank you for sharing your story. I think too many are reluctant to do so out of embarrassment and people don't see how these programs actually work. They just hear the distorted stereotypes.

His new wife slipped the Kool-Aid into his drinks. It's like he got sucked into a cult, which I guess he kind of did.

This "oh, I'm taxed to death" shit is so old. The taxes were much higher in the past. Sorry that you have a RW Sister. My family is Blue through and through.

24. She doesn't care.

She's been a 'oh woe is me'-er all her life.

She could have gone to college or tech school if she wanted to, but she didn't. Instead she chose an hourly job at a crappy company right out of high school and never pushed herself to go further. That she works in a non-union industry that pays its Execs and CEO's hundreds of times more per year than the staff that actually does the work is nobody's fault, in her mind.

She could have dusted off her wallet and dined at a real restaurant or bought nice clothes once in awhile instead of insisting on generic labels so her bank account could crack $250k by the time she was 30, but she didn't. That the Wall Street tricksters took a large portion of that money during the Bush regime appears to be everyone's fault but theirs, in her mind.

That the working guy is getting screwn, outsourced and downsized in the name of profit & there are so many people out of work, losing their homes and hungry is the fault of the freeloaders and the takers - not the Corporate Vultures, in her mind.

After my car accident, she had the nerve to call me and demand that I 'just put down the crutches and walk'. My leg was broken in 3 places - including a compound fracture - and I was 5 months pregnant.

During my junior year in college she called me and insisted I "quit this college nonsense and get a job". Since I got my BA & relocated, my income has increased fourfold. Hers, maybe a couple bucks an hour.

Reality will never lay a finger on her, sadly, because she is so full of venom about the state of 'how her life turned out'. Narcissism at its freeper-worst.

12. Supposedly if you quit your job

Your life will improve. Pres. Obama will give you a cellphone, pay for your health care, food and housing

I don't understand how rational people believe this. They must be brainwashed by Faux and talk radio.

14. I have relatives in this particular boat.

I know they cite teabagger blogs and brietbart and believe the bible is on "their" side.... but if you quote the bible at them, then they say you are a godless babykiller.
When confronted with actual journalism, or government documents, they shrivel up and disappear.
They don't know how to carry on any discussion where they have to concede or compromise.

No wonder they didn't win. Most don't embrace the Somalian version of prosperity.
