The GOP will lose until they tell evangelicals to STFU
A moderate will twist him or herself in knots during the primaries just like Romney
To satisfy to religious right.

6. This is the fruit of the 'slice and dice' electoral strategy finally starting to rot.
|
Every election from here on out will end up the same way...until/unless they finally purge the Party of the ignorant Teabagging, Fundie extremists who are now in control of their Party. each primary season will force the candidate to move further to right to gain their party's nomination...and they will continue to lose the General Election by increasingly wider margins.
And their aging bitter, white old man demographic will continue to die off while younger new voters will reject their agenda in increasing numbers over the next couple of decades. GOP= Dead Party talking. |

8. Understand but does any person or group have a monopoly on truth? How can people who are divided
|
and polarized on issues find a compromise?
If a person believes she/he is the custodian of eternal truth, they will answer that question one way; if not a different way. What is your answer? |

9. Romney?
|
He played the part of a moderate only when he had to in order to accomplish his goal of becoming governor of MA. I feel certain that in his twisted mind, he was able to rationalize the deception as a necessary ploy to assist him in achieving the ultimate prize of the Presidency. The entire nation should join DU in being grateful that he was denied his heart's desire. I can only imagine how he would have twisted the United States into knots with his ineptitude.

11. Without the religious crazies, the GOP gets only 40% of the vote.
|
Can't win that way, particularly when the 10% they would lose is the most passionate 10%
On the other hand, that is the same 10% that has lost them the Senate the last two elections and given them a Presidential ticket that was doomed from the start. |
