The stink of Joe Lieberman in CT and D.C. will be gone in January!
Rejoice, DUers! Joe Lieberman will be GONE at the beginning of 2013!
Senator-elect Chris Murphy will occupy his seat. We have a breeze of fresh air that will sail through the Senate and fumigate the darkest corners that Joe inhabited! Intellect and integrity have returned to our historic state and the nation will benefit from it. Chris is STRONGLY pro-choice, pro-women's rights, pro-environmental, pro-jobs and pro-Obamacare! Rejoice, America!

1. Yeehah! Chris has been my Rep for the last six years...
|
and as thrilled as I am to see Joe go, I'm positively ecstatic that Chris will be taking that seat (and defeating Linda McMahon makes it that much sweeter)!

2. Politely ask him if he would take an early leave ...
|
Like Washington's really going to get anything done before Christmas break, anyway ... when does that start for the Repug House? Tomorrow?

3. Good idea? Please, Joe, can't you just leave a bit early?
|
He doesn't live in CT any more anyway (mail drop in Stamford). So why continue the masquerade?

6. He is retired for good, at 70 years old. No other race worth running in.
|
A little old for the Governor now. All our Reps are Dems and pretty well liked, all got reelected. A Dem took over Chris Murphy's congressional seat.
I think Joementum is done. He doesn't live in CT anymore anyway. |

|
Last edited Wed Nov 21, 2012, 08:37 PM USA/ET - Edit history (2) he'll no longer be a fixture on the Sunday morning rant shows. "Look at me, I'm so bipartisan I always vote against my own party!" Maybe he can get a job as a whore for Israel.

Every elected office at the state and federal level will be held by D's! I don't know the last time, if ever, that it's happened.
As we all realized that, after Esty pulled out the 5th, it was an incredible moment. |

Got off my butt yesterday and door-knocked/canvassed my entire neighborhood right on the edge of Murphy territory. Had the honor- the honor- of working with members of the IAFF to help get Chris over the top. Last night at Murphy HQ was a hell of a party!
Senate seats are not bought nor sold. They are earned. |

15. Oh, I know. But I was part of the 06 effort with Ned Lamont to throw Joe out of our Dem Party
|
in the state. It's taken a while to get him completely out of the way, but we did what we had to do and now it has paid dividends. I freaking despise that man for what he did to the party and to the whole country, particularly on the Public Option for health care. He was a disgrace.

Last edited Thu Nov 8, 2012, 07:52 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) Congratulations to Connecticut on their new Senator.
Although, I must gloat just a little, as we Wisconsinites definitely improved our presence in the Senate, as well. No offense to Herb Kohl, who is a fundamentally decent guy, but Tammy rocks! |
