Whoever produced that video did a beautiful job, my congratulations to him/her!

Nice medium and then, lowish-angle, tight shots, up close, of Barack's head and shoulders and when he happened to move a couple of time, placing the arena lights behind him, and blocking their blazing the frame, he became fully backlit, a beautiful effect.

BEST shots are just after the camera person changed the angle of the low-angle close-ups s/he had been using. I think someone blocked or something, 'cause you can observe something that comes into the frame, so the angle changes somewhat at about 32:nn and the field-light is more directly behind PO's profile and, hence, the rimlight is much brighter.

In addition to that, there are also some VERY good profiles in this one, low-anglish stuff in which he has his chin up and his upturned face is well lit by ambient light. Good stuff.

This one also has some of the best crowd shots and, personally, I think this is his best speech ever, message-wise.

Beautifully shot video.
The man,those faces, his oh so beautiful message. I am weeping now! However they are tears of such joy and hope for our future!
I am so proud of the America that I love! We came out to take his back as he has taken ours over the last four years!

I thank you Patrice

the reasons I was talking about that particular video is because some of the shots are lowish-angle, 3/4 profile, medium close-ups, so you can see some facial expression in addition to the beautiful rim-light.

I know some independent film people and there are graphic artists in my family, most of my brothers and my dad all had dark-rooms and had decades of hobby interest in photography, even though all of them were/are blue-collar workers too. I think Americans in general are getting pretty sophisticated visually, so they really enjoy photos like the one you have posted here. Even as a passionate word-lover, I have to admit that some photos are indeed worth a thousand* words.

*Though, indeed, it takes a great deal MANY more than "a thousand words" to understand what's going on in America right now.

Did you notice when he got into the "deep" part of his speech, how quiet the crowd got?

"Love, charity, duty, patriotism."

So profound. So real.

In fact, I venture to say that for MOST people who do authentically feel close to anyone/others, it has almost nothing to do with blindness, intentional or otherwise, to their flaws and the risks and liabilities of one's relationship to them. In fact, it's probably the opposite of that puerile inclination, something more like honesty about who one's self is and who others are.

Perhaps in some zero-sum paradigms it's either individuality or adoration of others, but I'd bet that's a significant minority of how most people understand real-world relationships to other people.

"admiration"!

I have to say that the President is far more gracious than I am -- but then I'm not the President -- 'cause I would have had a very difficult time not yelling out to the crowd at my victory party, "You Built This!!" ... just rubbing the Right Wing's nose in their own filth.

Might've been fun to highlight what a "community organizer" has done to their party, as well.

New parlor game: what will Obama do after his next 4 years?

US Ambassador to the UN;
UN Secretary General;
Earth Amabassador to the Galaxy?
