How I think liberals may have lost last night.

I felt like I needed to wait till the next day of the election to post my analysis, to let us be in the moment.
Now I feel like thier are some troubling aspects of the 2012 General Election.

There is no doubt that I believe that Americas choice to move Forward was the best one.The victories of Obama and the Democrats across the nation were hard and very challenging. However, lets look at the Money that was spent in this election with record donations on both sides and the influence of the super PACs.Even congressional races were highly financed.Victories gained by the American (really the center)left has showed that maby big money didnt really do much in corrupting the electoral process and is highly overstated?

To sum it all up I fear Citizens United is here to stay.

He didn't take public funds because of the magnitude of the wealth of outside groups. nt Tarheel_Dem Nov 2012 #2

didnt take public funds in 2008 because it would have limited his total spending. I agree, I think it is here to stay.

sorry.

Since it works for dems as well as rpugs, I guess it will stay. The left is the only group that would bring a serious challenge to this. If key players dont see a major problem with it then its a done deal

"Obama didn't take public funds in 2008 because it would have limited his total spending"

...has nothing to do with Citizens United. We're looking at potentially 2-3 new SC appointments in the next four years and Obama has given every indication he will not exactly be looking for nominees that are Citizens United friendly.
