I know CNN is not very popular at DU, but check out their interactive map ...

Choose Pres/Senate/House/Guber from the menu (it may take a minute to update) and see all the results at a glance. Move your cursor over any stae to see the most recent tabulation of votes. Scroll down the page for key races not yet called.

Whatever you think of CNN's editorial stance, the wonks in the back rooms have done themselves proud.

CORRECTION: You can view states, not districts, with the floating cursor. To see details of states, *click* on the state -- when a new page pops up, scroll down to see key/all races.

2. Hope CNN doesn't break their neck

with the left turn they're about to take. Many of us will not forget their position
this election. They need fresh programming and can start by ridding themselves of
Erin Burnett and Piers Morgan to name a couple.

8. REC. I love it when the backroom geeks shine through.

Data has solid value, editorializing is transparent.

9. Go look at states like Oklahoma, it's scary. ALL RED. Every county.

I don't think I could live there.

11. Even AL has its blue zones -- Macon Co., AL, ***87%*** for Obama !!

You can read some of the history of our state in that map -- the so-called "black belt", where the rich black soil gave the highest crop yields, was home to most of the plantations, and many of those counties are majority AA today. The other blue spot is basically Birmingham.

10. on election night, we mostly stuck with them.

Preferred MSNBC, but CNN had better incoming stats, faster and more of them. MSNBC talked more while CNN was constantly going back and forth between county maps and tabulations. CNN blah-blahed too, but way less.
