There is some confusion of the % counted, but it appears the 99% is the correct figure.

Remember everyone wrote off this seat.I will admit I too thought Republicans would pick up this seat. But she proved to be a great
candiate.Plus this was another state where you might say Bill Clinton helped get out the vote.He did come to ND for her. |

Heidi Heitkamp
Just got off the phone with Rep. Berg. I thanked him for his service and for being a part of our great democratic process.
I know a lot of people on both sides of the aisle worked very hard in this election. I am so grateful for the people who gave me their votes and this victory. I make this promise to every North Dakotan: I will be a senator for each and every one of you. We did this together and I am so grateful to everyone on team HH4ND https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=488629407824078&set=a.377172585636428.86881.302589433094744&type=1 |

Thank you. We did it!
I can’t thank you enough for all you did to make me the next U.S. senator from North Dakota. We pulled off a win no one thought we could. The experts said we didn’t have a chance. Thankfully, you refused to believe it. You put your energy into action and we ran the greatest grassroots campaign in North Dakota’s history. We did it! It was a close election, and every vote mattered. We overcame all the attacks from people outside our state who thought they knew best. I am so grateful to you for fighting it out to the finish. Let me also take a moment to thank Congressman Rick Berg for his service. It was a close, hard-fought campaign. I am so grateful to the people who gave me their votes and this victory. But I also know there are many people in our state who did not vote for me. Now, I make this promise to every North Dakotan: I will be a senator for each and every one of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me the opportunity. Heidi |

Heitkamp wins Senate seat; Berg concedes 1 hour ago • Associated Press http://bismarcktribune.com/news/election/berg-concedes-senate-seat-to-heitkamp/article_a9b5f79a-290b-11e2-9986-001a4bcf887a.html FARGO, N.D. — Democrat Heidi Heitkamp averted a Republican sweep in North Dakota's top races with a narrow defeat of Republican Rep. Rick Berg in the U.S. Senate race.
Heitkamp won the race by fewer than 3,000 votes, and Berg could have asked for a recount. Instead, he conceded the race Wednesday with a qualifier: He was stepping aside barring any unforeseen circumstances with the state canvasing board that certifies the race results. "But basically," he said, pausing to regain his composure, as he spoke to a room full of supporters in Fargo, "with that acknowledgement of the circumstances, I just want to be clear I want to concede the election to Heidi Heitkamp." Berg said he trusted the state's auditors, who had been standing by their vote tallies. .......... |
