The Comey effect - he did did the dirt for team R

Let's be clear about one thing.

Hillary didn't "stumble."

She didn't do anything wrong.

But, she suffered a VERY devastating partisan political stunt by Comey which set up the right wing and media to blast the shit out of her.

At the same time, for the first time, Trump has managed to restrain himself for a little over a week. He hasn't said or posted any crazy as shit on Twitter.

NOW - what does this mean?

First, the e-mail thing was a anvil over Hillary's head. I think the assumption was that she would be exonerated, and probably would take a hit for nothing coming from it. But, what made it so damaging was Comey's very well crafted press conference where he

1) flat lied and put it into public record that she had transfered over a 100 emails, which he had to take back under oath in the congressional hearing a few days later, but that made no difference. His lie will be what people think, that she did send and receive 100s of classfied emails.

2) His editorializing in saying that it is possible that these classified emails she never sent or received could have been hacked.

It was a MUCH bigger hit than simply stating the facts.

The rot from this will fade, but there are two disconcerting aspects.

That her margin folded up so easily because of:

1) this completely fake scandal, and for sure they WILL try to drum up 100 more between now and November.
2) That Trump is showing a restraint he has not shown to this point, and that his simply not being out there saying and tweeting stupid as shit can recoup his numbers a bit.

It doesn't matter that Comey lied and the e-mail issue is a completely made up scandal. That is simply the world we live in today. Rs will contrive this bullshit, the media will propagate it, the dumb asses in this country will buy it.

Trump now gets to roll into the convention with this basically tied.

Pence won't help him a lot, but he won't hurt him, either.

Maybe the convention is a complete fustercluck. But, short of that, he should get a bounce.

A few weeks and then Hillary gets her turn at it.

Sad to say, but we have to hope Trump loses his discipline and starts talking off the prompter again.

1. The really fun show is when Hillary and Trump have their debates. Trump will have to show up.

I would not be the least bit surprised if Hillary pisses Trump off so much that he walks off the stage. She won't respond to his insults in the same manner as the GOP clowns did. Teleprompter won't be around to help him then.

in the debates and also that she will likely have some subtle way of digging him.

However, I also have no doubt the Rs will have some way to spin it and the media will go along with it.

Comey was for sure a dick, not unusual. He could have said far less. The Dems have a yuuuge built-in advantage that doesn't appear to be affected by these types of things. I have heard "concern" from some folks, Dems, who believe this could be bad, but I believe that it will pass.

The storm is over, clear sailing ahead and the Democratic Party will sit tight until their convention, then let loose on those confederate fucks on the right. Biden, boom. Bill Clinton, boom. Warren, boom. SANDERS, BOOM. OBAMA, BOOM. HILLARY, BOOM. It will be an obvious choice.

I do not believe that on election day, that there are enough people to go to the polls and pull the lever for TRump.

Get out the vote.

After Labor Day is when we should be concerned if the Cheeto is ahead.

But, I agree we shouldn't worry until labor day. We still have a lot of GE real estate to cover between now and November.

I am genuinely scared that Trump will win this election.

People keep saying to wait until Labor Day to see how the race is shaping up. It think Monday, August 8 is a better date to look towards. That will have given Hillary's post-Convention bounce a whole week to wear off. So that should let us know where the race stands, after the conventions and after Comey's actions.

It is also three months to the day before the November 8 election. And it will be a long three months. I will spend every day terrified that the GOP's latest scam job has been successful to the point of getting Trump a victory.

10. I think we now have a narrative that Trump can ride

the Rs are FULL in on the terrorism thing, and if we keep seeing attacks as regularly as we seeing them now, that gives him something the media will very comfortable swing in his favor. Saw Woodward on MSNBC this morning really pushing, blatently, the meme that Hillary was too weak and Trump talking tough (it literally was that simplistic) was much better.

And, god forbid we have an actual terror act here that was developed and carried out by card carrying muslim terrorists.
