2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI voted.
Turnout was a bit heavier than 2008. I live in a very Red town, so this isn't necessarily a good thing, though.

I bring the kids, too. The very nice poll workers have no issue with my young kids going into the booth with me and I let my youngest actually press the button.
In 2008, by (then) 11 year old son got to press the button in my booth for Barack Obama. This year is was my 7 year old daughter's turn.
My son is excited by the idea that he'll be old enough to vote on his own next presidential election! He's hoping Hillary runs.

(28,702 posts)my 20-year-old cast his first ballot this year - for Obama. but his two older brothers are stubbornly apathetic. the eldest is in CA so it doesn't hurt, but the other one is in PA and that does hurt. i've literally begged him to vote, to no avail.

(5,043 posts)I thought I'd get it done early, but now I kinda wish I'd stuck to my normal routine.
I like chatting up the poll workers at the end of the day to get a clearer idea of what the turnout was.
Oh well - guess I'll have another chance in 2016.
