2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI can't take it! When does Hillary pick her cabinet and economic advisers?!
I'm so getting ready for Hillary.
On the one hand, Hillary is being punished by me for the sins of Bill and Obama. On the other hand, Hillary is embracing Clintonian economics.
But I keep reading here at DU, Hillary is her own person and Bill isn't going to be the President. But I need proof!
Come on, Hillary! Bring the middle class back to the Democratic Party!!

(30,481 posts)It's one of the reasons I love DU. So many members are. Some are so far ahead of the curve they proclaim it themselves. It is a great board with great people.

(5,252 posts)*then there are the rest of you. No original thinkers among you. No threads, just tens of thousands of comments with little content and that contribute nothing.
The point of this thread eludes you, but I expect nothing of you since I recognize your username. I really don't recognize many here. The brilliant posters and a handful of you annoying Hillary supporters (bean, JV, a couple others). You should read my comments. You'll learn a lot from me.

(146,284 posts)She may make some picks beforehand, but typically a Presidential candidate does not select an entire cabinet before November. Once elected, then it's time to choose a cabinet and promote them to the newly-elected Senators and remaining ones. It's not always easy to get commitments from cabinet-level people until you are in a position to actually offer them.

After we get a nominee we may begin to hear serious rumblings, but after the election things will officially begin taking shape.

Let's see... Rachel Maddow, press secretary
Debbie Schultz... chief of staff
Chelsea... graduates to chairwoman of collecting donations for the Clinton Foundation whilst defending it against allegations
Hillary will still pick out the china and flowers.

(5,252 posts)And I know she loves Bill's economy, but she's "considering" and "open to" more progressive ideas. That's, like, worth something. By November, she may have formulated a position.
That's why the only way to satisfy me is to see who she surrounds herself with.
