Related: About this forumFlorida Is the Only Swing State Left
I was getting my 538 fix this morning and after the sense of euphoria that I felt to after seeing the numbers went up again for Obama while I was sleeping, I noticed the map. Every state now seems to be solid red or solid blue. If you look at all of the states that were considered swing states during this election, they have pretty much made up their minds now.
Here are the odds, according to 538, of each swing state going to their respective candidate (mostly Obama )
Obama States:
Colorado=70%
Iowa=81%
New Hampshire=80%
Ohio=87%
Virginia=73%
Pennsylvania=97%
Iowa=81.2%
Michigan=98.7%
Wisconsin=94.5%
Nevada=90%
New Mexico=98.9%
Romney States:
Indiana=99.7%
North Carolina=77.2%
If you look at the map, all of the states are over 70% for one candidate or another, except Florida. Right now it is nearly spit evenly between the two candidates, with Romney having just a 55.5% chance of winning. Florida is the only state that is close this late in the game and thus I propose, that Florida is the only swing state left. Unlike Ohio or North Carolina, it is really the only state that could go either way. I get the feeling, and not that it will end up mattering, that Florida will be the one state we are waiting on for hours if not days.
The good news is, of course, that Obama has absolutely no need for Florida's electoral votes and Romney absolutely does. So enjoy watching the Florida returns and enjoy watching the Republicans squirm over every vote change because it is a must win for them and just icing on the cake for us.

throw out Gravis Marketing and Rasmussen, and North Carolina is a swing state according to every other indicator. If you believe rape is rape, North Carolina has been raped.

The might be a silver lining, though, if the problems are too egregious to be ignored and stimulate the right kind of changes to election standards either the state or federal level.
