I never knew so many of my neighbors were that wicked stupid. I've moved, but he is still on my ex-husband's ballot. Now the ex is a devoted Republican who voted for West in the election of 2010. He called me with some questions about his absentee ballot and said he was writing in my name rather than vote for West. I was able to convince him to vote for the Dem. Patrick Murphy.

I was horrified when he won the election in 2010, but as he was my representative I signed up for his weekly newsletter. It is quite good...as communications from reps go. It tells you how he voted on each issue, his calendar of events, and his opinions on everything.
While I never agree with his opinions, I think it is commendable that he takes the time to communicate with his constituents in a very real sense. I have written to him a few times, disagreeing with him, and have always received a courteous explanation of why he voted as he did. If he wins re-election it will be due to the overlap of people from his old district into his new district who appreciate that he cares enough to take the time to compose a weekly newsletter. (You can tell when he has written them himself as his grammar is just a bit less than perfect...while the staffer who writes for him occasionally has a better command of the written word) If I am fortunate enough to get (D) Lois Frankel as my representative, I plan on sending her some samples of his newsletters....
