2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe Crimson Tide Factor?
My sports editor mentioned something that may be interesting on Tuesday:
According to USA Today's Paul Myberg, Alabama and Louisiana State University play the weekend before election day, which they did today. And according to him, in the last seven meetings on presidential election years, LSU won four times - 1984, 1988, 2000 and 2004 - and in all four years a Republican was elected president.
Alabama won three times - 1992, 1996 and 2008 - and in all three of those years a Democrat was elected president.
The No. 1-ranked Crimson Tide of Alabama, current BCS National Champions, won 21-17 on Saturday.

(135,425 posts)If a Blue State wins the series, a Dem becomes President, and if a Red State wins, a Republican gets it.
Based on that -- and a much longer track record than "Crimson Tide" can boast (I thought you were talking about the film about the submarine in the waning days of the USSR)--Obama gets four more years.

(2,010 posts)And I think Detroit in 1988. Maybe it's an opposite thing (red state wins, Democrat wins)? Or something? Or maybe I'm UP way too late. XD

Michigan should go blue this year, and both Calif. And N.Y. are deep blue.
